Check over your manual. It's a simple process, yet I don't know what Suite has. If you plan on doing a lot of design work, I'd suggest skip "Architectural" and go right to the "Pro" version.
-
Spend some time with your reference manual. If you put the material in the plan, you can then select the material from the "plan materials" section. Go to patterns/textures where you should be able to rotate the material 90 degrees.

Knowing what program version and year is very helpful for everyone here. Reading the reference manual is a fantastic place to start.
-
Go to default>door>garage door>arch>dog ear arch-then set the height of the angle you want
-
Ok, you should be able to do that.If you can put the version information into your signature please. Then it will always be seen by people so you can get better help.

We can help you better if we know which program and year you have. Yet my 1st thought is if you look at the walls that the framing goes over, make them "bearing" walls where they would logically be and the framing will split on those walls and break them from going the full span of the building, etc.

You're welcome. I would also suggest you spend some time going through the reference manual where you can often find answers on your own without having to wait for someone to reply to a question.

Or you can put in a door there, make it the thickness you need, change it to a glass panel if you need stiles and rails, change the material of the glass to a mirror, adjust hardware as needed. You can set the height and width of the door to the size needed and raise it from the floor to set where the opening is.

One of the new features in HDP 2021 is that the posts do show up in railings on the floor plans. You can also adjust the size of your beams in the railings.

I don't base or design any of my plans on them and just have them on for convenience when needed. The grid snaps will pull objects to the line instead of them letting go to where you want to dimension them to.

Have you tried the centering tool?

Draw your cabinets. Go to the library and enter "lighting." There should then be a folder that says "Architectural Lighting." Select that, then cabinet lighting, then tube or your preference. Then drop it in your wall cabinet and it will be there. It may be different depending on which program you are using, which is why it is helpful to adjust your signature to have that information always there.

You will find a lot of it in the manual. As I am sure "Solver" will add his comment, update your signature to show the title so it will appear in every post. Sometimes the "join roof" tool can help you as well.

It will help everyone if you put the title and year of the program you are using (Architectural, Pro, 2020, 2021, etc.), as each program has different options. Then I would strongly suggest spending some time with the reference manual and built in help menu so you aren't always waiting for someone to respond.

I don't know if Architectural has this option, yet with Pro you can open up the window unit and select the wall type. I am thinking that you have the default for your plan with brick, so if you change the wall for the bay/bow to something else, it may solve your problem?

I use this website in combination with Google maps to set my North arrow. Enter your location and you will get the L&L. Then, do the overhead view w/Google and then rotate the image to how your project will sit on the property/existing house if it's an addition, etc. Then you can estimate pretty closeley where North is from that view. Set the date & time in HD Pro, enter the L&L numbers and the sun will adjust accordingly. https://www.latlong.net/

Opening "it" meant the object you wish to save to your user library. I have a master plan I use for every project. It has the default settings and items I want for things like wall types, doors, floor materials, etc. so I don't have to spend time resetting all of the defaults on a new project. When I start a new job, I will start with the master, open it, select "save as" and rename it to the new job. Then if I need to change items for that particular project, I just change the defaults for that job and the master stays intact. And if you create something new while working on the new job, add it to the user library and it's there for the future. For what it's worth, I have never used one of their defaulted style type plans for the reason you are having issues. Worst case with your own master is if an item is deleted, the materials for that item will show the texture is missing and give you the chance to replace it with something that is available. Looking at your screen shot you seem to have a boatload of duplicates that would be helpful to get rid of and keep what is checked and active.
-
Often when you create or open it up, there will be the library icon in the bottom of the window. That may let you add it and rename it, depending on what it is. Ideally if you have a master plan you start your projects with, then it would be available for every plan created from that.

Now would be a good time to search the reference manual under "roofs" and read about splitting surfaces under them. That's always a great place to start.

Or you can copy and create a new wall type with just the siding changed. Name it something different and maybe even change the infill so you can see it's not the typical wall in plan view.
