  1. Thanks but just doing a comment doesnt really solve the problem. Right now my floor height in the model is 11 7/8" higher than it would be in reality.
  2. I want to specify that my first floor joists hang on the stem wall rather than sitting on top. How can I specify this in HD Architectural (if possible)?
  3. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I just had to change the thickness of the paint layer to .1" and it covered the bare studs. Cheers
  4. Is there a way to designate two different roof materials for different sections of the house? When I apply a roof material it changes for the entire structure.
  5. When creating an interior wall where the wall ends in an open area, the surface is unfinished framing and the drywall is not wrapping around to show a finished edge. How can I resolve this?
  6. I created a spline road and made an error in its design. How do I delete segments/break points? I ran into the same issue with my terrain perimeter. I cant figure out how to delete a break point. I didnt see the answer in the reference guide.
  7. Thanks. I have the soffit surface for ceiling enabled. It appears the stucco on the end of the wall is not overlapping around the corners properly. Also where the invisible wall for the "open below" room intersect, its cutting out the wall stucco. I have tried building the walls a couple different ways. One with double framing and the other with single framing and siding on both sides.
  8. Is there a way to change material defaults so I can make my doors and windows always start out as black trim/sash? thanks
  9. Thanks. The open below room type was the piece of the puzzle I was missing. Now is there a way to fix these open spaces that are showing the OSB/Framing?
  10. Thanks. In your example, is the roof based on the ground floor room? Im not clear on how you built this. Also is there a way to fix the cutouts in the soffit? I have experienced this as well.
  11. Thanks. I am running the Architectural version. In the photo, there is a balcony, but it does not extend all the way to the edge. I made this balcony and put a roof on it, but the balcony doesnt have a wall like a deck does so I cant change the roof rom Hip to Gable. Even so the roof doesnt go all the way to the edge. Can I create an "invisible" room above the balcony that has a roof that is configured correctly? Sorry Im brand new to the application.
  12. I am trying to build an overhanging gable roof that is popular in a lot of Scandinavian designs, but auto-roof does not know what to make of this. How do I correct this so the roof looks like the example photo?
  13. I am looking at getting Chief Home Designer (Architectural or Professional) to put together a master plan for my 10 acre property. We are working with a draftsman right now on the house plans, but they are far from complete. I would like to start working in Chief on terrain, driveway, landscaping, etc but I don't want to make any stupid mistakes that would prevent me from placing the finished house design later on. I have heard there are some issues with rotation of the house plan and things of that sort. What is the best way to start on my design and not run into these gotchas later? Is 10 acres way too big to put into one design? Should I split it up some way? Thanks
