This is from Chief Architect help, so I'd recommend looking at your help for specifics. To create your own template layout 1. Select File> New Layout . 2. Select Edit> Defaults Settings and open and modify the settings in the default dialogs as needed. See Default Settings. 3. Select Tools> Display Settings> Display Options and create any custom layers, layer sets and layer settings that you typically use. See Layers. 4. Select File> Print> Drawing Sheet Setup and specify the desired print settings. See Drawing Sheet Setup Dialog. 5. Select Tools> Layout> Page Down to go to layout page 0 and use the CAD tools to design a border and title block that suits your needs. See Layout Page Zero. To set a template as your default 1. Select Edit> Preferences and go to the New Plans panel of the Preferences dialog. See New Plans Panel. 2. Click Imperial or Metric Units. 3. Click the Browse button for either the plan or layout template. 4. Select a template file from the Templates directory or navigate to a different location and select a template from there.

You will need to edit your template plan. If you will look, using Windows File Explorer in C:/Windows/Users/Your Name/My Documents/Home Designer Pro 2018 Data/Templates/profile.plan This plan file is the one that opens within HD Pro, each time you command "New Plan" in the "File Menu". Open it, make any changes to your defaults, including page size, dimensions, foundation -- essentially any defaults you want for all plans. Save it and close it. Now when you start a new plan, all these defaults will be set.

Select the layout box, open it (control-e), and suppress the label.

Are you reading the KB articles I linked? Home Designer products have single page layouts. Do you have Drawing Sheet Setup? File>Print>Drawing Sheet Setup You should be able to set the paper size there.

There is a built in help system, so when you have a question, it's a good idea to search it first. A search for explode block would locate the answer, and you would be working instead of waiting. When an object is selected, the Edit Toolbar contains tools that may be used on the selected object. Mousing over them will show the tools name. When an Architectural Block is selected, Explode Architectural Block will show up as one of the options. A right click (at least on a Windows PC), will show multiple options, along with the same Edit Toolbar options.

Could you post one of the symbols? (3ds file) You will probably need to zip it.

I think Pro has Make Roof Baseline Polyline. If so, read up on it, as it's a better way to change the shape of the roof -- rather than using the Gable Roof Line. The soffit is a problem with the software. Please report to support. Try these settings. I used 48", but you should use the actual depth.

It does not show there in the Home Designer products. look in the status bar when an object is selected.

Look under Line Style.

Open one of the images and see which layer it's on.

I don't believe Home Designer has the ability to do what you want. The electrical symbols are CAD Blocks, not images. You might try using a file type that lets you have a transparent background, like png. You might also contact support. Also, electrical plans, normally, do not show furniture, at least here in the US.

Explode the block, make changes, re-block.

Suggest you contact Home Designer sales.

You will need to Tab to select the wall. There is a setting Select Walls Before Room, that will change this. I see that you have Pro 9. That's old, or did you just buy Pro, in which case you have Pro 2018.
-
I verified that a pony wall does not work as expected. Select the top edge an pull it down just a bit. It should snap back and rebuild, removing the parts that stick out.
-
Because you have Pro, I'll recommend you use its manual roof tools. After getting the roof correct -- not worrying about the dormer, turn off auto rebuild and reshape the roof planes as required. Then, draw in a roof to cover the dormer.

Uncheck Ceiling Over This Room.

On the interior, the 2nd floor walls need to be aligned with the first. From the 2nd floor, select a wall and use the Align With Wall Below tool. Because the first floor walls are thinner, you will then need to manually move the 2 long walls out 2". Doing this roof in Suite is going to be not so easy. If I were designing this, I'd look at doing the rear like this. It cleans up the roof lines, and makes the changes not so obvious.

People seem to start with Suite, although its limitations would be very frustrating to me. Architectural has more features, but they mostly relate to structure -- defining new wall types, for example. Pro has even more tools, and allows you to manually create ceilings and roofs. If you are successful in your business, and willing to invest much more money, consider the Chief Architect products (Interiors and Premier). You may always upgrade by paying the difference in price from your software to the higher priced version. Pro, and the Chief Architect branded products have a rent to own feature too.

Just continue this thread. It's confusing when people edit their original post, so just add the new info in a new post.

Click the path, click the Key Frame tool, click on the path to place it. I tested in Chief Premier, but should work the same in Pro.

Read up on the Open Below room type. Second floor. Draw a room, set it to Open Below.

None of the Home Designer products have the ability to manipulate symbols. You will need a 3rd party symbol. Search the 3D Warehouse (Google to find it) for a grab bar.
