  1. It's on the Framing, Wall layer. Turn off all layers except that one. Use Edit Area Visible to marquee around it, then delete.
  2. Grab the offending roof plane edge and pull it over.
  3. You never said anything about an angle. Did you try the custom backsplash? It's the only thing you can shape with an angle. You will need to draw a wall to place the backsplash against, but then the wall may be deleted. There are also shapes in the library that may be combined with other things to make a composite shape.
  4. You need to show or tell us what isn't working. There is no on/off for break line.
  5. Like a stringer or skirt board?
  6. Align how? One method I use for aligning things between floors is to draw CAD lines on one floor, copy the CAD lines, move to another floor, Paste Hold Position. You now have a reference to pull dimensions from, do Point to Point moves to etc. You can also copy the stairs on one floor, Paste Hold Position on another floor.
  7. You will need to post an image. I see no red lines. Do you happen to have reference display on? (F9)
  8. Break the wall where you want the gable. Mark it Full Gable, the other part, uncheck Full Gable.
  9. What problem, what video, and where are your pictures?
  10. I forgot to mention you can move the endpoint manually from the outside of the wall to the inside. You might tell us what the purpose is of these dimensions. A framer will want dimensions from the outside of the exterior wall. You can use interior dimensions to dimension inside rooms.
  11. There is no room labeled Slab, but rebuilding the foundation seems to create a foundation for all rooms. You should probably leave Auto Rebuild Foundation checked so it updates with changes in the plan.
  12. I think your holdup will be removing the roof in front of the dormer. Otherwise, you should be able to get close. Essentials is limited in many areas, so post back here for workarounds. What's happening to your roof? This was done with the Auto Dormer tool, how are you doing a manual dormer?
  13. Posting images, your plan etc is helpful. Draw four walls and place a roof to replicate the issue. Post this simple plan.
  14. Building a roof, roof plane, using auto or manual roof tools does not build framing. If you do not build framing, there is nothing in the materials list. Have you reviewed the materials list? It sounds like you plan on giving it to your supplier and expecting to get a materials package tailored for your build.

    Stair Knee wall

The program does not do this natively, so you need to trick it. There are multiple ways to do this, and the attached plan shows one. There are 2 stairs, one with no railings, and a narrow one, hidden in the railing wall to provide the railing. I did this to get the newel out past the first tread, as the software wants to build the newel into that first tread. Pay attention to the railing wall and how it's defined. I set it to No Room Definition, and No Locate. Don't know how this will work where the stair has multiple sections. Another way is to use solids like the shapes found in the library -- search for wedge, and/or a custom backsplash. A custom backsplash may be placed and shaped in elevation. Redefine it to be the thickness of your wall, make one for the wall cap etc. Try out some of these ideas, and post back with questions. chadkee stair 1.plan
  16. http://www.davidmichaeldesigns.com/free.html I just Googled chief nanawall symbol, and this was in the first few results.
  17. About $2,300.00 There is a comparison on the Chief website, and for the best answer, call and talk to someone in sales. Pro is limited to 1 Layout sheet at a time. You just need to use multiple layouts. Pro has 1 layer set that cannot be changed, Chief has as many as you want, and you can modify them all, and also has annotation sets which are a collection of settings/defaults. There are many productivity enhancements and the ability to create a variety of solids, create symbols and much more. I modeled this wall hung fireplace in Chief. No way to do this in Pro. Chief has ray tracing to produce a more realistic image. Good for exteriors, very good for interiors. And various other rendering options. It's a lot of money to upgrade, but if you are using it as part of a business, it may be worth it. You can download the trial and see for yourself.
  18. What don't you understand about this? I'm not trying to be difficult, but your answer is in that one sentence.
  19. You don't add floors to rooms, you create a new floor, and create rooms as required. What are you trying to model? What don't you understand about adding a floor and then rooms?
  20. Draw it with CAD lines.
