  1. Something wrong with your attachments. Make sure the plan is not open in Pro.
  2. One of the keys to your design is the stair. As is, it does not work. The red line shown is less than 6' and the steps do not reach the 2nd floor. I suggest getting them and the stairwell set before working more on the 2nd floor.
  3. Do you want to raise the garage, or lower the house? Don't understand this.
  4. See if this helps. I set a couple of the Absolute Elevations to 0. 447Debbie garage.plan
  5. Try changing the room type from Garage to Slab.
  6. Sometimes it easiest/best to start over. You have a simple structure and reproducing it, making things correct as you go is better than trying to fix what you have. After so many changes of settings, trying things etc, it's difficult to get everything set back to the way it needs to be. Post your plan and I'll look at it in an older version of Pro. You can help me out by making a copy and deleting all the unnecessary items -- furniture, terrain things etc. I'l' be at a job all day -- will take a look tonight.

  8. Like this? Simple plan done in Pro 2016. Set top plate height (ceiling height). Built roof. Raised ceiling 1'. Drew in truss. twoshed.plan

You can always upgrade at any time without loosing any work. You could also download the trials and see the differences in each product. Architectural lets you define new wall types, I believe, and may be all you need. It all depends on how accurate you want the model to be.
  10. After taking a look at your plan, I'll suggest you put off the roof until everything else is correct. Get the basement, floor and ceiling heights, stairs etc, all correct, then focus on the roof. The roof structure is influenced by everything below. I've seen someone work with Suite, for example, to coerce the program into building a roof, then adjust something below by 1/4" and have the roof change completely. I also suggest starting over with a new plan, keeping it simple and devoid of everything except the structure. Set your defaults as best you can, and fix each issue as they come up. You really need Pro and an understanding of manual roofs for this model.

You will find Suite has many limitations when building a model using conventional construction, and maybe impossible to emulate a steel building. You really need the ability to define your own wall types at a minimum. You won't be able to model C or Z shapes, or tapered I beams. The program also has issues with structures within a structure. You might search ChiefTalk, the forum for the Chief Architect branded products for some ideas -- same username and password. Thanks for filling out your signature, and where in Central Texas? 12. Git rid of all the "accessories". Furniture, cars, all the terrain items etc. They take up a huge amount of space in the plan file, and also slow down the operation of the program.
  13. Can't help without the plan.

    DECK FRAMING

Is there a Deck Planking layer you could turn off? Also, always post the .plan file, not the layout.
  15. Did you try copying each floor down a level?
  16. You should have a Terrain Hole tool. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00862/creating-a-window-well-for-an-egress.html
  17. You could also use a Terrain Hole, if available.
  18. Wall alignments from floor to floor? Please clarify what you mean? Left side wall. Gable wall is defined as brick. Will the brick have a cap, or should the siding come out to the outside of the brick? Does the brick protrude past the siding above or is it flush? I showed the foundation walls with a 5" wide brickledge all around, I would like to actually step it down but I haven't figured out yet how to do that or how far to drop. Does Pro have this? Please start new threads for additional questions.
  19. I noticed a few other things you might want to address before getting too far. Wall alignments from floor to floor. The brick walls probably should have a brick ledge defined. Does the brick protrude past the siding above or is it flush? I imagine the smaller gables are built on top of the larger (shown on left), instead of going through.
  20. You have given the slabs a solid fill. You could change the transparency setting to allow the door info to show. With Chief Premier, I can send the slab to the background drawing group, so all else will be drawn on top, not sure if Pro 2018 has this ability -- it's a new feature in Chief.
  21. A picture of the plan is mostly useless. Zip the file if it's large, then drag or choose files below. My suggestion to inswing was simply to see if the missing items showed up.
  22. Thinking about the structure (framing). Suggest you visit with your engineer to get sizing on floor joist, and a design for the roof system. You will need some way of keeping the gable roof from pushing the walls out at the bottom, and whatever the engineer specifies will determine platform thickness (and stairs) and could effect the ceiling height upstairs.
