You cannot define rooms on the Attic level. When you remove the ceiling from a room, and there is a roof above, the program will extend the walls automatically.

Without the plan, cannot say for sure, but it sounds like you just need to draw in ceiling planes to form the vault.

If your proposed vault fits under the roof, then no need for a 2nd floor. Will the ceiling (if it were flat) be raised in the living room -- higher walls?

The program has automatic features that you can disable by making a manual change, like placing your own lighting in a room. There is a default automatic light when there are no user placed lighting in a room. You will need to use the Add Lights tool or set light fixtures to provide lighting, or both. The Home Designer website has videos and articles, and i have a couple on my YouTube channel (link in my signature) -- search for light.

One step at a time. I assumed this is a Room Divider wall. Change the ceiling height in the closet and bath only outside the main structure. For now, everything else needs to be the default ceiling height.

Reinstall is probably the simplest. You will need to export, then import your user library, and if you have customized toolbars, you will need to save that folder, and move it, or copy the files to the new folder. Probably need to deactivate and then activate the new install. There is a KB article about moving to a new computer which should apply.

All I did was rebuild the foundation and the missing porch slab showed up. You probably need to use manual roof planes for the gable roof over the porch.

Please use a screen capture tool instead of a camera. Windows has the Snipping Tool. Mac systems should have something similar. Rebuild your foundation and suggest you leave auto rebuild on.

Looks like a bug, but I don't use this feature. You can place it manually, or if not using curtains, place as a curtain.

Start a new plan, draw 4 walls to form a room. Copy the problem window to the new plan. If the problem is still there, post the new plan.

That can't happen, but you can have 2 walls in the same space, like a first floor wall and an attic wall.

Copy your railing wall to the left and mark it No Room Def. Change the porch wall to invisible, then move the railing wall back. YMMV

It looks like you will need to use invisible walls like you did on the other part of the structure. Or upgrade to Chief ...

What "porch rail"?

Could you post a screen capture showing the problem? I'm not familiar with that version.

Locked how? What can't you do?
