Foundations don't always build as we expect. Attach the plan file (close Pro first) and someone will have a look. Which side is correct?

If you are dragging an object, hold Control or Command while dragging. This works for all objects. Any of the other moves using dimensions, point-to-point etc will also work.

I just looked at your test plan and you are correct -- cannot change away from Fir Framing. Delete the roof, then use Edit>Edit Area All Floors to copy and then paste into a new plan. Suggest you send your plan to support as there is clearly something wrong.

This could be done with Chief Architect, but not Home Designer. You could hire a Chief user to create new symbols. Not all types of objects can be blocked. I would create something like this with soffits, or slabs. Without any images everyone is just guessing.

Start by reading about Textures and Patterns. A Texture is simply an image file and the program has no knowledge of its contents. You will need to find an image that matches your needs, or create/modify one in a program like Photoshop. A Pattern is 2D and cannot be used to change a Texture.

Could you use the Slab tool to create the raised area? Not different rooms needed.

Architectural Block?

Downloading places a copy on your computer. They then need to be installed. Library>Import Library or double click on the downloaded file or drag the downloaded files into an open Home Designer window

What do you mean "does not work"? Try Preferences > Reset > Reset Side Windows

A picture (screen capture) or 2 will help others see what you see.

Don't know about that. Copy the plan then remove all the extras like furniture, cars, plants etc.

There is something wrong with your plan attachment. Try again and remember Pro needs to be closed before you upload the plan.
