  1. Hover has been discussed on ChiefTalk and it seems you should get a PDF with dimensions, and the model, but you cannot do much (maybe anything) with the model in HD or Chief. People using Hover are doing so to get the dimensions, then using them to create an as built within Chief.

  3. Depends on what you need. Make a cabinet like this and place it against the back and sides.

  5. I don't know how to do it manually Suite is very limited and I'm not sure how I would do it. After thinking a bit, I made a video on how this might work. I'll update this as soon as it's uploaded and ready to view.
  6. How will you waterproof the floor? Have you considered you will have an exterior wall, waterproofing, railings etc -- that is cost that could be put towards the enclosure of the deck today? Manually. Change it in Defaults, then Edit>Reset to defaults. Elevation Camera. Dimensions will be shown in plan, not evevation.
  7. What problem are you having?

    Ceiling Designs

Use 2 soffits -- like it would be built.
  9. Pictures or drawings of what you want to create?
  10. It doesn't print. PDF files get created via a printer driver, but they don't print, just create a file.
  11. I've posted a tutorial on creating custom templates in Tips & Techniques. Here is the dialog from Chief that allows one to add plan materials to the library. One of many convenience features that an extra $2,300 buys you.
  12. I'd try a different PDF print driver. The one installed by Chief is fast and usually does a good job, but I was able to reproduce your problem using it. I tried with bullzip ( https://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/download.php ) and did not get the extra lines. Download and install, then choose it when you print instead of the Chief driver.

    Door inset options

None that I know of. I imagine this is low priority as typical houses in the US are not built like this. Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/C3HMYUdG_44?hd=1
  14. You cannot do these things because that's the way the program works, the program is not broken, and it's not a bug. These are features that you can find in the Chief Architect products.
  15. You are looking at the Materials List section which specifies how a material reports to it. This has nothing to do with structure. A material is like paint, it's something you apply to show a representation in a camera view. It sounds like you should be looking a Chief, as it has all these features that are missing from Pro.
  16. It's a limitation of Home Designer.
  17. Unlike Chief, Home Designer is limited on doing things like adding materials from the plan to the library. Normally, you would create them in the library, not in the plan if you wanted to reuse them. I know of no way to get them into the library.
  18. My fault as I forget how limited anything but Pro is. I opened your plan in Architectural and could not find a way to fix what you have. Suggest you start a new plan and copy/paste into it. Select the Wall Tool, then holding Shift, marquee around the plan. Copy and paste/hold position into a new plan. Select things like steps and do the same.
  19. Did you search tracing? Do you see how to import an image?
  20. Go to Plan Defaults and change the concrete to treated. Then open the deck and check Default.
