  1. No Placing a marker or moving things to 0 is easy in Pro. In Architectural with grid snaps on, place CAD lines at the 0:0 intersection for a visual. Search Tips & Techniques for Template to see how to create a custom template that could save this.
  2. You can move walls around however you like to reduce the size.

    Cabinet Shelves

    Open Help, search for shelves.
  4. Nothing automatic. Change one floor, you are responsible for changing others.
  5. Ramps are typically low slope for a reason, so keep that in mind. Ramps, and stairs may also be drawn from the top down using the right mouse button (on a PC).
  6. Someone will need the plan file to experiment with.
  7. No, but you don't need to. I can do it in Premier using locked layers, but Home Designer lacks that ability, and it's not something I ever do.
  8. I don't understand the question. And I don't understand this either What is "separately"? An addition needs to be drawn in the place it will be built. In your case, draw the house and garage, then add the new structure between. It's always a good idea to draw the existing, save that plan as a backup, then start a new plan with the addition. To get a materials list, I would make another copy of the complete plan and delete everything but the new work.
  9. Yes. The addition model will be completely separate and cannot be connected to another model. If this will be used for permitting etc, you will need the existing house and the addition in a single plan. Yes.

  11. Pro lets you reshape a wall, and/or there are settings in the wall itself that tell it to stop at the roof below.
  12. Look for the Inverted Wedge shape in the library. Use 2 -- one for the interior and a thin one for the exterior. Paint with matching materials. Place and size using an elevation camera view.
  13. You can do this. Draw 2 stair sections.
  14. Where do you find that is an option? I know it works in Pro, but do not see the ability in Architectural.

  16. Something odd in your plan. I checked it in Suite, but needed to use Chief to fix it. !!!!!!!!!!!!!NEW TEST-DECK DELETE (eric).zip Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/ekIEKoIqiOA?hd=1
  17. That was for Pro. Attach the plan file and I'll have a look. Close Suite first.

    roof sheathing

This is Pro 2021 using default roof settings showing a room defined as an Attic.

    roof sheathing

These are the defaults from Pro 2021. Yours seem to have been changed. Start a new plan and look at the settings. In your plan, change the setting in Defaults, then rebuild the roof.

    roof sheathing

Try changing this to whatever sheathing you need. It looks like your default has been changed from the out of box OSB.

    roof sheathing

Is the sheathing included in the roof structure? Looking from the outside and using the Delete Surface tool to remove the shingles -- what do you see?

    Floor framing

I'd suggest reviewing the hour long getting started webinars for Home Designer found on YouTube. Sounds like you are trying to manually do what the program will automatically do for you. And pictures (screen captures) will help others see what you see. Attaching your plan file (close Pro first) is always a good idea too.
