  1. Attaching your plan file will help someone help you. Close Architectural first. You might experiment with Extend Slope Downward. Make sure your structure -- especially the roof (pitch etc) is correct.
  2. Depends on the system you are using to produce your Layouts. You either make a copy of your plan for each trade and place your notes in each of them, or you send your plan to layout and add notes there. Make sense?
  3. Just like you do with the other items. What are you not able to do?
  4. Attaching a picture (screen capture) will help others see what you see. I'll guess that you are using a Floor camera -- try a Full camera instead, and read about the differences in Help.
  5. Looks like Architectural does not have that option. All the videos use Pro. Do you just want to fill in the wall, or does the roof need to change too? You may need to use an Inverted Wedge, and a Wedge from the library to fill in. You would need 2 of each, one for the interior finish and one for the exterior.
  6. Inverted Wedge in the Library.
  7. And don't use a Floating Dormer.
  8. That's not an auto dormer. I just used the walls you had drawn that extended to the face of the garage. If you want an auto dormer, remove that bumpout you drew.
  9. This is auto built, and just a guess at what you want. Just think about how roofs build and adjust your 2nd floor room ceiling heights and walls to get the roof correct.
  10. What's the problem? What does the new dormer need to look like? Have you searched the forum for dormer? DJP and I have both posted videos recently.
  11. You cannot copy/paste rooms with any Chief Architect/Home Designer product. You can copy/paste walls that form rooms. The more expensive products have tools to facilitate this.
  12. Your camera is using the Default Layer set instead of the Section View set. Delete the camera and open a new one.
  13. You should use zip format too. Not everyone is able to work with 7z files.
  14. Try again to upload the plan. There is a 25MB limit on size. Close Pro, Zip the file and try uploading the zipped file.

    Shed Dormer

This is from a previous thread. Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/R9Chn_LQO1M
  16. Chief lets you create and modify symbols. In this case, I added a stretch plane as seen here. Say you want a specific garage door, or cabinet door that is not in the library. You create one. You can easily add moldings, and create your own molding profiles. Layouts may have unlimited pages. Real Layers -- you can create layers and layer sets. Basically there are many advantages to Premier, but it really depends on your needs and what your customers expect. To stay current with Chief will cost about $600/year. There is much to learn with Chief too. Everything you know about Pro will transfer, but to fully utilize it will take study and work. Download the trial and spend some time with it and the documentation.
  17. You can copy/paste walls that create rooms, but Architectural is limited on functionality. Pro would make this much easier.
  18. That particular light has no stretch zone defined. Here is one that works, but the chain will not look too good as it's short to begin with. Save this file, then drag it into an open Pro window to import. The symbol will be in your User Library. Dover Pendant.calibz
  19. Wasn't me. I gave you 1 to get you back to neutral.
  20. Symbols are usually set to stretch correctly, so in a camera view if you select the light and drag it down, it will stretch along the chain/shaft and the light fixture will remain unchanged. You can make the same adjustments via its dialog too. There is a Help button in each dialog that will open Help to the correct section and often a bit of reading will answer a question. Also, just experimenting with the settings will often find the answer.
  21. They are beginning to discourage auto interior dimensions and have even removed the tools from the toolbar, but you can add them back. I'll suggest again that you try using Temporary Dimensions as they only show when an object is selected. Quick video Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/MjU6T5nG4Qw
  22. You should consider creating a new template once you have things setup as you like. That way, all new plans will pick up your defaults. I posted a how to in Tips & Techniques. Search for template. Dimensions in general. I would recommend you experiment with using Temporary Dimensions to locate things. This will keep the clutter down. Once you have things positioned, or as needed, add manual dimensions. Here I placed a window, clicked on its interior side and temporary dimensions allow it to be positioned. You probably want to set your dimensions to locate wall surfaces too. Edit>Delete Objects Choose to delete Auto Exterior Dimensions and the program will ask if you want to turn them off -- say Yes. You can turn off Auto Roofs there too. Not auto interior dimensions. I'm a bit confused. Maybe a couple of screen captures would help show the problems. Your window size does not include trim. For example, the 32" wide window shown above with casing would be 37.25" to the outside of the casing.

    Shed dormer help

One click to place a dormer in your plan using Suite 2021. Because your version lacks the tools, you need to do it the hard way ... I know that's not very helpful.

    Shed dormer help

What's your goal? That is, why are you doing this? You cannot work just part of the model with your software. As you have seen, it's all tied together.
