  1. Suggest you create a room (maybe a Porch) at the top of the stairs to start. Post the plan file (after closing the software) for more help.

    Wall material

Not sure what you are asking. Thermo Ply may not be a stock material so you might need to make your own. See the links above for more info.
  3. The Home Designer website is a good place to start your search for answers.

    Double gable roof

    Try the Gable/Roof Line tool.

    Double gable roof

    Something wrong with the audio.

    Roof over window

Draw it manually. You might also create an Open Below room there and change the roof overhang to use in auto building the roof.
  7. That's part of the wall below. You can make it invisible, or set the wall below to Balloon Through Ceiling Above.
  8. What you want to change is the ceiling height. Draw what I suggested above. Divide the space with an interior wall where the ceiling heights change. Open the room specification and change the ceiling height. Generally, wall heights are controlled via ceiling height. Roofs build over rooms, so they are also affected by ceiling height.
  9. Did you do what I suggested and build a new model? Why are you trying to adjust the exterior wall heights?
  10. What walls are Half Walls? Try this. Start a new plan and draw the T shaped structure using Exterior walls. Change the 3 red walls to full gable. The roof should auto build, but if not, build the roof.
  11. Figure how it would be done within the program, then see if Architectural has that ability.
  12. These are easy to do, just think through the steps required. Roofs build over rooms, so adjust the ceiling height up or down as needed, and draw in rooms, even if they are not part of the plan to control the roof. When it's correct, turn off auto Rebuild Roofs.
  13. Maximize the software window. Double click on the title bar (blue bar at the top of the window).
  14. Houzz and Gardenweb -- same owners. The site navigation is poor and they keep changing it making it worse. https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/kitchbath
  15. You just need to experiment and see what works best for your application. What specifically are you having trouble with?
  16. You can draw your own ceiling planes.
  17. Paste Hold Position No. They could be modeled -- I'd use Custom Countertops for the treads and Custom Backsplash for the stringers. I've used 2 stairs next to each other to simulate.
  18. Have you considered an alternating tread stair? Looks like you could squeeze in a full bath.
  19. I see David has already done a video ... Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/po8n7IvX3Xw?hd=1
  20. I don't think auto dormers will work here. Sometimes the program just does not automatically do what you want so you need to take over and do it manually.
  21. And we can be more helpful if you attach the plan file (close Pro first).
  22. Keep in mind the Home Designer website has many videos and articles available. It's a good place to start your search for help. The Reference Guide may be helpful too. With Pro, you can manually create the dormers, explode an Auto Dormer which is often easier than getting the auto dormers to work. I have a dormer video or 2 on my YouTube channel.
  23. Search my YouTube channel for backsplash. Wedge Shape from the library. No way to use a slab.
