Newer users sometimes want the program to provide every option. Sometimes there is a setting that does just what you need, sometimes not. Think of the software as a set of tools. Become familiar with them -- how they work and what they can do and then use them as needed. Don't assume use because of how something is named. The Custom Backsplash is useful on the exterior modeling something other than a backsplash, for example.

Accuracy as in framing. Attach another picture or two of the area that shows wall connections and the niche for better ideas. I used a 2nd floor room to supply the walls Jo Ann shows in green.

Round post. Set Material to Steel.

Unless you need framing, I'd use solids (soffits, slabs, countertops etc) for everything. For the niche, open Help and search niche.

I would guess it's video card related. See the system requirements here https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/system-requirements.html I'd contact Chief Tuesday for a quick answer.

Have you looked/tried? You create the site plan in Plan, then send to Layout. What "layout tool" are you referring to? Roofs may be moved. Select a roof plane and check the Edit Toolbar. I imagine you were on level 0 when you imported the survey. If it's an image or PDF, you may cut/paste elsewhere.

What are you calling "basement framing"? If you have added walls or other structure to the foundation, then Auto Rebuild is off. Have you tried changing the defaults for Level 0?

The Knowledge Base has articles on doing details.

Please do, and I'm not clear on what you are looking for. Do you have an image you could show? Like this?
-
Why do you want to?

Do you have this issue in a new (or every) plan? Attach a plan file that demonstrates the problem and someone will take a look.

All walls -- no sofffits. Just depends on how accurate you want the model.

You may need a 2018 version. I'd find one, not necessarily the symbol you need, and try it. Did you search the forum? Probably more specific info in previous similar threads.

When windows or doors do this, it's usually because there are two walls in the same space -- something that sometimes happens with multi story structures. You should be able to select the walls in a 3D view and see this. Did you try zipping the file? You can also use Edit Area (All Floors) to cut out a section of the plan.

Manual or auto roof? If auto, Auto Rebuild needs to be checked, if manual, then move them manually -- select them all and use Transform/Replicate.

Attach the plan and layout for the best help.
