In Vector View, you can toggle off color. Look at the tools on the toolbar at the far right of the screen, or press F8.

I've not seen this problem and do not know what's causing it. Try this. Open the layout, marquee around it to select everything, and Copy. Close the layout. Open the plan and send to layout. Marquee around the entire layout and Delete. Paste/Hold Position. Save as a new name. Close the Layout. Reopen the Layout. Does it look normal? Double Click the layout box that shows the plan to open the plan file.

That feature is rather buggy. I'd add the gable manually.

We need the plan file too.

What are you calling a "layout plan"? Pro has the ability to create Layouts, which are separate from the plan file. You might try Window>Fill Window Building Only And it's often helpful to attach the plan file after closing Pro. Allows someone to troubleshoot.

Make the soffit taller?

See if moving them the attic works.

If you want suggestions on your design, suggest posting on Houzz. They have several forums, if this is a remodel, for example, you might post here: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/remodeling/

I have a Dormer playlist set up. Take a look at the other videos and see if they help.

The automation built into the program is far from perfect. The auto backsplash is an example. You have the Custom Backsplash tool, or as you said, use cabinets for your fillers. Turn off auto filler generation if you want. You cannot save applied moldings, but you can save the entire cabinet to the library. Not really sure what you want, but you can add a Blank Area to your cabinets, or use something like a Soffit above them. Think about the tools available to solve a problem, not just the ones right in front of you.

Not all defaults are dynamic, and this applies to all objects, not just cabinets. You will need to manually reset some things.

See if this info helps. Use Soffit Surface for Ceiling

I've attached a door similar to what you are wanting to model. You cannot really "add" doors and windows, or multiple windows etc together in Home Designer. You can just push them up against each other. Untitled 18.calibz

Probably. You might attach the plan file and someone may take a look.

Read about Use Soffit Surface For Ceiling.

Using Architectural 2021 Trial (and I don't think this part of the program has changed from 2019) I created a full height cabinet, removed everything but the sides and top. Picked a random refrigerator from the library and placed it in the opening. When asking about symbols, like your refrigerator, it's important to identify the symbol. Where did it come from, what is its name etc. Symbols, like appliances, need a special setting (that Home Designer users cannot access) Inserts Into Cabinet Front. Your symbols may not have this set. For forcing something into a cabinet, use the center tools, or hold Control and drag.

Think about how your roof is framing. You might build, and then display roof framing. You may use the Delete Surface tool to remove surfaces to give you a view of what's going on. There is also the Use Soffit Surface for Ceiling which might be worth reading about.

They always use Pro for videos which doesn't help everyone else. Create a cabinet with an opening for your appliances, place them outside the cabinet, then move them inside.
