    Mansard Roof

Only one thing it could be -- the pitch is too steep.
  2. Best to contact Chief directly for this type of question.
  3. Good question for the people at Chief -- everyone here is a user just like you.
  4. What setting would cause the slab to automatically rebuild when you make a change?

    Mansard Roof

What's wrong with the elevations? Is it the roof is covering the walls? Probably need to raise the roof.
  6. You are able to import molding profiles created in the Chief Architect products, or via the Bonus Catalogs, but none of the Home Designer titles are capable of creating a profile.
  7. There is no documentation for Home Designer. I'd contact Chief and ask. How do you manage revisions? You create a plan, then customer wants a change. Where is the change made? In the original, or do you make a copy with a new name? Are you printing from Layout or Plan?
  8. Probably depends on the purpose. There are macros that work in Layout like %date.short% I've shown here. I do not know of a list of these, or how they react when the date changes, for example. Tell us more about what you want to accomplish. Consider that typical work flow is to print to a PDF, then print the PDF.
  9. A screen capture showing the problem would help others help you.

    5-Panel Door?

Check out the bonus catalogs -- lots of good stuff including a 5 panel door.
  11. Select a wall in elevation. Grab a corner handle and drag. Hold Control or the Mac equivalent to override snaps.
  12. Grade beams are typically stepped down a slope. Is yours like this? See the Knowledge Base linked above for how to articles.
  13. Newer users sometimes want the program to provide every option. Sometimes there is a setting that does just what you need, sometimes not. Think of the software as a set of tools. Become familiar with them -- how they work and what they can do and then use them as needed. Don't assume use because of how something is named. The Custom Backsplash is useful on the exterior modeling something other than a backsplash, for example.
  14. Accuracy as in framing. Attach another picture or two of the area that shows wall connections and the niche for better ideas. I used a 2nd floor room to supply the walls Jo Ann shows in green.
  15. Round post. Set Material to Steel.
  16. Unless you need framing, I'd use solids (soffits, slabs, countertops etc) for everything. For the niche, open Help and search niche.
  17. I would guess it's video card related. See the system requirements here https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/system-requirements.html I'd contact Chief Tuesday for a quick answer.

    Siding direction

    Make a new material.
  19. Have you looked/tried? You create the site plan in Plan, then send to Layout. What "layout tool" are you referring to? Roofs may be moved. Select a roof plane and check the Edit Toolbar. I imagine you were on level 0 when you imported the survey. If it's an image or PDF, you may cut/paste elsewhere.

    Basement Framing

What are you calling "basement framing"? If you have added walls or other structure to the foundation, then Auto Rebuild is off. Have you tried changing the defaults for Level 0?
