  1. You need to start over. First read the user guide, and look at the knowledge base articles. Too many mistakes! You played with the wall definition, didn't you? Never do that unless you know what you are doing. Some walls do not connect-- some walls are not aligned over exterior wall-- varying ceiling heights-- roof settings on some walls are wrong-- roof settings in 'build roof' are wrong-- balcony 'room' is done incorrectly.

    Steeple

Mostly soffits, plus pyramid shape, vertical cylinder, and round mirror frame.

    Story and a half

You have 'ignore 2nd floor' checked on the roof tab, so there is no 2nd floor to see.
  4. You have just found one of the options limitations with Suite. When your building exterior is complete, grab the paint can (while in 3d mode), choose your siding color, choose the paint can mode (plan mode), and paint the siding. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00851/using-the-material-painter-modes.html

    Roof Return MIA

Bite the bullet and delete the 2nd floor. Open EVERY room on floor 1 (except the garage) and check the default ceiling height box. NOW build the 2nd floor and set ceiling to 0" / no ceiling over this room. Set the 2nd floor end walls as 'gable', and 'full roof return'. You can now use the auto dormer tool to build a dormer. When this dormer is set correctly (ceiling height, roof pitch, window), copy/paste for the other dormers. If the roof is correct, turn OFF auto build roof. You can now build the interior walls, railing, and open below room, and raise your ceilings. Don't ever accidentally rebuild the roof. P.S. You might find it difficult to get into that bath tub that is in the bathroom between the 2 bedrooms!

    Roof Return MIA

The plan has serious issues with ceiling heights. Fixing that wall doesn't resolve the issue.
  7. You have the side walls of the porch railing designated as 'full gable'.
  8. For some unknown reason, the fence at that corner is causing a problem. Move that section of the fence slightly, (towards the cellar door) and the gable should build.
  9. Ok. Here's another try.
  10. Like solver said, start with a porch 'room'. Set the roof directives on the porch walls and auto build roof. Then tweak the roof with the manual roof tools. Too vague about the screened porch. Ground level or main floor level?
  11. Maybe something like this?
  12. Turn off 'auto rebuild roof', THEN use the paint can.
  13. Huh??? Your porch finished ceiling is set to -5/8. What were you thinking??! The front railing wall is set as "high shed/gable" and also with an "upper" pitch setting. What were you thinking??! Reset the finished ceiling to 88", then set the front railing wall roof to 3" (uncheck every thing else!). To make it look better, you should set the gable overhang to 12". This is probably the best result you can get, with Suite.
  14. RIGHT click the french door, and within the window that pops up, select "delete gable over opening".
  15. Thanks, Fred! Nice to see that you still browse the forum. Even nicer to see a finished project! More pics please!!!
  16. Here's a crazy thought. Open a 'new' plan using the mediterranean influence style. Hopefully, a kitchen base cabinet will have the ca-29 chair rail molding on the countertop. Open the cabinet dbx and delete the toe kick. Use the settings shown in the pic, and also change the countertop material. Add the molding to your library. Open your existing plan and get the molding piece from the library. Depending on what style template your plan is, you might need to delete a newly formed backsplash from the molding.

  18. The roof pitch on the real house appears to be steeper. This was done using only 'auto build roof'. The 'how to' is long winded, but it is what it is, so here goes: Create 3d full perspective view and vertically tile the window. Open build roof icon and change the pitch to 9. Plan view/level 2: Delete bay window walls. Pull back all interior walls slightly away from the exterior walls (creates one big room to select). Open the 'big room' and set the 'finished ceiling' to 0. The entire floor needs to be set at 0, including the 'open below' room. Front east exterior wall (front door is below it): Drag across the garage to the north wall. Place a wall break here, on the north wall. Open the left portion and set as 'gable'. Open garage portion and set the pitch to 14 (be sure to delete the 'D'). The wall you dragged is already set as 'gable'. South wall: Put a wall break as close to the front wall as will allow. Open the small wall section created, and uncheck 'gable'. Set the pitch at 14. Back to level 1: Right click the porch railing doorway, and choose 'delete gable over opening'. Open this front railing wall and set as 'gable'. Open the south railing wall and set the pitch to 14. Here's the trickery part: Draw a new wall, from the front railing wall to the front door. Set it maybe 12" away from the garage wall. Open the wall dbx and set it as 'invisible', and set the pitch to 14. You have created a small room. Open the room dbx and uncheck 'roof over this room'. Open the adjacent garage wall and set the pitch to 14. You should now have the roof shown in the pic. If not, back step and find what setting you missed.
  19. Steps: see post#3 camera: read up on the camera views in the knowledge base
  20. Use either a half-wall or a railing wall (they are the same thing), Set the thickness of the wall, and the height of the newels. You are building a 'room'. Reshape the 'room' by extending out a portion of the front, and adding a diagonal wall on each side (extending back to the original side walls). Right click each diagonal wall and and select 'change arc'. Open the room dbx and set it as a 'court' with no roof. Set the floor (C) at -114'. Delete the slab you drew in, it's no longer needed. On level 1, you have a polyline with a glass material. What is that? Reshape the terrain hole to be correct (turn on the 'reference floor display' to see where to place it). The deck posts disappear because the deck is now over a room. Ignore the warning message. Remake the deck posts with a soffit or box shape and put them where you want them to be.
  21. Nope. Not going to happen. The software is not designed to do this sort of thing.
  22. You are on the right track. Change all the walls to railing walls. Set them as solid, and change the newel height to 48". Change their material. Extend the center of the outer front wall and add 2 diagonal walls. Change the arc on the diagonal walls. Reshape your floor slab polyline, then do the same thing on level 1 to the terrain hole line. I think you will have to make each step with a custom shaped slab.
  23. Your first mistake is found in the build roof icon, where you checked "ignore top (2nd) floor. 2nd mistake: level 2 east and west walls designated as "attic" walls. This is the 2nd floor, not the attic. 3rd mistake: BOTH east and west walls are designated as "high shed/gable" walls. Uncheck one of them. Fix these settings and a roof will build. You also have numerous other things to fix, as Solver mentioned.
