  1. If you are asking about the manual dormer...search the knowledge base for manual WALL dormer.
  2. Outside image, Dormer on the right is an "auto" dormer. Dormer on the left is the "manual" dormer. Inside the room, dormer on the right is the "manual" dormer, dormer on the left is the "auto" dormer. Both dormers require pitch and ceiling height settings to be adjusted, to make them work.
  3. Depending on what you have, and what you want it to look like... A soffit or box shape might be easier to manipulate.
  4. I know that YOU understand what you have, but maybe a pic would be a better visual display.
  5. Is auto build roof turned on? Did you select the wall on floor 2?
  6. Not enough info given.
  7. On the 2nd floor, open the "open below" room dialog, and uncheck "ceiling over this room." Open the materials dialog and select the planking for the ceiling finish. Open the "cat-walk room" and follow the same steps.
  8. ??? Unclear what you did or what you want?
  9. I'm guessing when you mention "splitting walls", you are asking about the "wall break" tool. Read up on that. It would be beneficial for you to learn how to use the manual roof planes...BUT...this project can be done using the auto build roof function.
  10. idrivea911, Home Designer has a steep learning curve. and you have chosen a complicated roof design. The video tutorials, knowledge base articles, and reference manual..are there for a reason. T I P: Do a full perspective view of the plan, then vertically tile the view. In the 3d window, choose rendering technique VECTOR, and turn OFF patterns and color. When you change a setting, the change is easy to see in the 3d view. Experiment and practice, to gain success.
  11. I hear you complaining about getting help, but your description of the problem, (and the posted image) do not offer much for anyone to have an opinion about what needs to be done.
  12. Is this what you want?
  13. Make your own drawers within the software Box shapes, cabinet fronts (front only), then the handle. Block the components to each individual drawer, and that will allow you to open and close each drawer as you please. Above the drawers, add a custom countertop (shaped to fit around the short wall extension).
  14. I suggest that you turn off the display of roof baselines, on your floor plan. Then delete all the roof planes, and reset all the defaults. This should give you a fresh start.
  15. My example was done using auto-rebuild roof.
  16. Is this closer to what you want?
  17. Post a jpg image of the roof (no pdf, please).
  18. A lot of info is still unknown, but this is my best guess. Flight on the left goes down to the laundry room. Flight on the right goes to the 2nd floor.
  19. My software version is not capable of opening your plan file, so that I can see the floor plan. A jpg image of the floor plan would help for understanding the placement of the steps.
