Not hard to do, but maybe hard to explain.
-
Explain "The west gable to be a small dormer".
-
Trying to replicate what you have shown, but not quite understanding: " I want the gable on the south wall to be continuous with the rest of the roof". Is this what you want?
-
I think you missed the point, Rookie65.
-
I'm kind of wondering what a flat-angled roof IS?
-
If the ceiling height for the house is 107.6, try dropping the bump out ceiling to 99.75.
-
What part of the roof (specifically) are you having trouble with? You've been asked to provide an updated plan file, plus more information, if you want someone to be able to help.
-
You said, "I want the ridge centered (on the middle of the house) and for the wall on the right to be shorter". You are too vague when you ask about creating the roofline.
-
As an example, this can be done using the tools available in Suite.
-
You really need to post your updated plan file. You can add text and arrows to the plan file, to help clarify what you want, and what you have.
-
Are you planning to build this addition on your porch? !!
-
You have most likely already added a 2nd floor to the plan, so the program thinks you want to build a 3rd floor. Just draw new walls on the 2nd floor.
-
There have been no pics posted of what the back roof is supposed to look like. Based on the more complete floor plan that Garybills posted, I created this. Of course I have no idea what the roof pitches are, so it is still all a big guessing game.
-
Because I can't look at your plan file, and because you only posted a partial floor plan pic, I am guessing at what you want, in HDA program. Is this what you are trying to do?

In the core library...Exteriors / Recreation/Pools, Spas, & Waterfront/ Pools/ Round Pools
-
Remember, roofs build over rooms. Good luck!
-
Why didn't you use one from the library?

As Rookie65 said, HDA does not have manual roof capability. But, HD Architectural can do this, but not automatically, or easy. It requires a work-around that can be confusing and frustrating, especially for someone new to the software.
-
I think DJP might have misunderstood what you are asking. You say that you want to make the exterior walls of the dormer, align with the first floor walls, but keep the roof overhang edge/soffit (that you refer to as a ledge). Is that what you are asking?
-
Um, did anyone think a forum search might have some results?

If you left the ceilings in the living room and family room intact, eliminating messing with the existing trusses, but removed the ceiling in the new kitchen area with clerestory windows, would the large doorways in the family room and living room provide enough of the open-ness you want? In this pic, living room walls are gray, existing bathroom wall is green, and the blue wall is the entry to the family room.
