This is from Chief Premier, so may not be available in your version.

There is nothing to be visible. There is no fixture, just an invisible light source. All you see is the glow. Why do you want to select in a camera view? Start a new plan. Draw one room with a roof. Add a light and see how it works.

Change its height. It's probably in the cabinet instead of on top. They are sometimes difficult to select. Use the Shift-Select method. Click the Add Lights tool, then holding Shift, marquee around the light to select it.

Using the Adjust Material Definition tool, you can see their source.

3D menu -- Lighting David is referring to adding a standard light source -- the Add Lights tool.

For the door, draw a wall under the stairs and place a door in it. You are asking about floor structure thickness, and not floor height. This is probably another limitation of the software. To make it thicker, add material to the finish floor -- which is currently nothing (0").

I tested with the 2018 trial.

I checked my trial of Architectural and you can select multiple objects, but can only open a single selected object. Another ridiculous limitation of the software. FYI, Pro does not have this issue. Sorry -- I did not read your initial post about selecting and opening, just noticed the reply by Rookie65.

It only works for same item types. You can select multiple walls (railings) -- just make sure that's what you are selecting. I tested in Architectural 2018, and don't believe it's a new feature.

Hold Control, not Alt if on a PC. Command if on a Mac. You can also shift select items. This works for many object types, walls, cabinets etc. To select all upper cabinets, first click the upper cabinet tool. Now holding shift, marquee around the uppers you want to select.

Are the templates missing from the templates folder, or just not available from Pro? You might try an install (reinstall) of Pro and use the Repair option. It will replace missing items. You could also report this to Tech Support. They often know of problems that effect multiple people.
-
Please post your plan file -- close Pro first.

Should not happen. Could you post the plan file? Make sure suite is closed.
-
Posting a simple plan demonstrating the problem might net a better answer.

Modifying a generated truss is easy to do in Chief Architect -- do not think it can be done in Pro. Could you show us a detail showing what you want to model? You might create a truss, then add a framing member to the top. You could create the truss in SketchUp and import as a symbol.

There is a new feature in the latest version -- not sure if Home Designer has it, that helps with locating materials. I'd contact sales directly and ask.

If this is an existing home, do you have images to post? I'm curious about your use of railing walls that seem to be brick around the front. In a camera view, select the studs and delete. They are part of some unneeded walls. There are two walls on that side. You want to select the invisible one. Copy the 3 windows, delete the wall, go to plan and Paste/Hold Position to put them back.

Draw the deck without railings. Draw railings inside the deck. Mark them No Room Definition. Change their settings as needed. Move the railing over to the edge of the deck.
-
Are you adding it via the cabinet dialog, or placing it after the cabinet is in place?

Please post the plan file.

I don't understand why you want to do this, but is it possible you are using the software like your drafting table, and not taking advantage of its capabilities. I sometimes see people wanting to lay out things using CAD, or other temporary objects, instead of just using the actual object. Drawing CAD for walls, then drawing in walls over the CAD, for example.

Could you post a section (just a sketch is OK) showing what you want?
