  1. David has a good suggestion, and it gives you complete control of how the glass looks. Here is another idea. If your version allows, this trick might work for you, and it can work in other situations too. Draw a room divider wall parallel to the wall the class butts into. It only needs to be about 3" -- mine is larger here so it may be seen. Now move it so it's 1/64" away from the parallel wall. Drag the glass wall over and it will hit the Room Divider wall and stop. Notice this also prevents the base trim from wrapping around the glass. And if you can, define your Room Divider wall to look like this -- and set it as your default Room Divider.
  2. @DavidJPotter Check again David Architectural and Pro both have the Custom Backsplash tool.
  3. Videos are always done with Pro, which has all available tools. You might try a thin Soffit.

    Upgrading

Good question for Home Designer Sales. Call, email or post in the Sales Related Questions area.
  5. Not sure what you are using the plan for, but here are a couple of suggestions. I try for full inch dimensions where possible. Yours are mostly random -- close, but not exact. It's far easier for the guy building to not deal with fractions. Before After Also, reach in closets are typically 24" inside (sheetrock to sheetrock), more depth is mostly wasted space. I'd move the washer/dryer to the outside wall for easier dryer venting, and maybe tighten up the spaces a bit.
  6. Change the large door wall to hip and build the roof.
  7. Someone will need your plan file. You want a Dutch Gable over both doors?
  8. Build the 2nd floor with 1-1/2" rough ceiling. That will get you close. I added the bottom plate shown in red manually, but there may be a way to get it to build automatically.
  9. Here is an article showing the steps. It's for Chief, so it shows the Multiple Copy tool that Pro lacks, but you can use Transform/Replicate to do the same thing. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00981/creating-roof-trusses.html
  10. You don't build roof framing -- you have created it when you drew the trusses. Post your plan file for the best suggestions.
  11. Pictures of the existing house will generally help more than a description. It's typical to begin with an auto built roof, then switch to manual. I will suggest that you not use the dormer tools, instead think of the dormers as rooms with different ceiling height and roof slope.
  12. What does the documentation say? If your stairs are correctly connected, you should see something similar to this, I think, although this is from Chief, so I'm sure interiors will look different.
  13. Check wall connections and make sure the appropriate walls are not marked No Room Definition.
  14. That's the way window sills work. If you want seamless, use a soffit or custom countertop with moldings, placed manually in the opening.
  15. You need to be in an elevation or other camera view, not plan view.

    Converted Garage

Some suggestions on asking for suggestions. Ask clear questions. In all of the above, there are only 3 question marks, and only one is a question that seems to relate to a problem. Except, I'm not clear on what's wrong with the room, and what values you want. Floor finish is carpet, wood, tile etc. In your case, I would make it the thickness of the floor structure and flooring that was added when the garage was converted.
  17. Windows and doors must insert into a wall, so you cannot create a doorway for the casing, then place windows/doors within the opening. You should be able to come close on the look for the windows -- casing off, then use a Custom Backsplash for the trim.
  18. Your porch would normally have a 4" slab on top of fill, with foundation walls supporting it. You would need to draw in your own foundation walls, which might be Pony Walls. What I was suggesting is you create a surface to apply the stone to. It might be only 1/16" thick. Because I don't know exactly what you want to do, I must give somewhat generic suggestions.
  19. The simple way is to use a slab, soffit etc to fill in as needed, then make it stone. I noticed you have Angle Snaps off, which is generally not something you want to do. Makes it easy to draw off angle.
  20. Do you have Roof Over This Room checked for the deck room?
  21. Do you want a roof over the deck? You will need to tell us more about what you are trying to do for anyone to help. Adding images, drawings etc, and even your plan file will give others something to work with.
