I just looked at Architectural 2021 and 2023 and do not see a way to adjust hardware placement on individual doors. Pro and the Chief Architect products have it, but not Architectural and Suite.

Things like this are annoying aren't they. I think it's a bug and don't see a reason it should be building a wall there. You can turn off the auto attic wall builder in Wall Defaults, then delete the wall. For your deck, don't know what advice you are looking for, but I would experiment with using a Balcony too.

I just tried using the shelf ceiling and see just what you are seeing. Looks like you will need a 2nd floor. Two ways to do it. 1) Build a 2nd floor only over the shorter rooms. 2) Build a 2nd floor over the entire building. Use an Open Below room on the 2nd floor over the larger room.

Try the Delete Surface tool in a full overview. But I'll ask why would you want to?

Is this a construction question? Your wording makes me think you don't understand the components of the wall you are building. However, you may create your own material if one does not exist in the library. But my real question is why add all these layers to your wall? Especially ones that are 0" thick.

Try dragging your ceiling plane over to cover, or use a thin soffit.

No need to paint the trim first. You could also create a new material with your chosen color and use that material in the wall definition.

Try making the wall a Pony Wall. Lower Room Divider, Upper your normal interior wall type.

Explore your options when using the Material Eyedropper.

Google 3D Warehouse for a repository of SketchUp models that will import into HD. A web search for furniture symbols might find some more. Be sure they are in a format HD will import. Have you checked the Bonus Catalogs for furniture? Have you checked the Bonus Catalogs for tile? Make sure you understand Patterns and Textures. Patterns are lines, Textures are images. They generally go together along with a set of settings to make a material. Search tile on the Home Designer website for more info. It's important to understand the difference between Patterns and Textures. Patterns are lines, Textures are images. I imagine there is info in the Knowledge Base on creating a new material, maybe some info here on the forum, definitely some on ChiefTalk (feel free to read, but please ask questions here). Have you reviewed the available documentation and searched for answers?

When something does not appear in a view, it's often a layer display issue. Make sure deck related layers like Framing, Deck Framing are set to display.

It's important to understand Defaults and what may be changed using them. Once you have manually changed a setting (dimension or material) it will no longer respond to changes in defaults. Unfortunately, many settings do not respond to changes in defaults. See Defaults>Materials>Cabinets You may group select. Click the Full Height Cabinet tool (this causes all cabinets to be included. Select the Base Cabinet tool and only base cabinets get selected), then marquee select your plan (only works one floor at a time) which will select all cabinets. Only items common to all may be changed. If you select an upper and a base, you cannot change the toekick because an upper does not have one. The Marquee Select Similar tool is sometimes helpful, as is the Object Eyedropper. I understand your desire to make this as simple as possible, and it's been asked for multiple times. The Chief Architect products have tools to make this easier, but it's still not perfect.

Build, or turn on Auto Rebuild wall framing. Be sure to set the top plate count to 1.

Select an edge where you do not want the molding, open the countertop, click No Molding, close the dialog, repeat.

For applying tile to a wall, you really should be using the Custom Backsplash tool. Read up on it to understand how it works if you do not already know.

Individual walls may have a Wall Covering applied. Wall Coverings may also be applied to a room. For a single piece of molding, use a thin Soffit or Custom Countertop with a molding.

By default, it should have a slab and flooring. Start a new plan. Draw one room on the 1st floor. Build your foundation setting the height to 100". What do you get?

Did you search Help for matte? Open the material and review the settings.
