Do you have line weights toggled on n Layout?

For many questions, it's helpful to attach the plan file, or one that demonstrates the problem. Close the program before attaching, 14MB file size limit, so zip and/or remove unneeded things (cars, furniture, plants etc) that do not relate to the problem. Usually all that's needed is the plan file, not a Full Backup, unless the question is about materials.

Roofs build over rooms. Make sure Roof Over This Room is checked and Auto Rebuild Roofs is on and you should get a roof.

There isn't. They cannot work from a plan view? I would experiment with overlaying dimensions from plan view onto the 3D in Layout, or in a image editor, or just adding dimensions in another program.

Did you try copying the user database?

Use Room Divider walls to define the porch. Place post manually.

Reverse Layers on every other wall section.

The plan you attached has no terrain, and it opened in Pro 2022, not 2023. Are you really using 2023? Did you upload the wrong file -- one without a terrain?

Home Designer lacks direct control over the path of moldings attached to walls. You can remove the moldings from a wall, then use a Custom Countertop shaped as needed and with a molding applied to fill in.

Here is what I see. It's often helpful to have a simple plan file to review that demonstrates the problem. Exit from the program before you attach, and there is a 14MB file size limit.

Start a new plan. Draw a roof plane. Open it and look at the Baseline settings on the General panel. Experiment with the settings. You can enter pitch as 3 in 12 instead of degrees.

Doable in Chief Architect Premier with its curved ceiling and roof plane tools. The only native way of doing curved ceilings/roofs in Home Designer is using dormers. Depending on your exact requirements, a program like SketchUp might be used to create a symbol that you would import.

Suggest you reference the manufacturer information for your window choice and ask your supplier about sizing -- what if any advantage is there for choosing "standard" sizing. Windows are generally made to order, and not stocked somewhere in specific sizes, unless you are buying off the shelf from a retailer. Probably a better way to do what I show, but this should give you what you need.

Suggest you watch one of the getting started webinars on YouTube -- see link above. There is also a tutorial linked under the Help menu that shows the basics. As for your question, you normally use the Build Foundation function instead of manually drawing a slab.

Please keep in mind that the people helping here are all volunteers. It's not our job to solve your problems. David said: "for pier and beam type foundations, they are laid out manually using the provided tools". To be clear, the program will not automatically build a complete pier and beam foundation. It will build some of it, but you will need to place piers and beams and proper footings manually. You are asking about framing not changing? Is auto build framing on, or are you building framing after the change?

Home Designer has little control over moldings. You can turn them off on a wall. If you need finer control, people will use a Custom Countertop or Soffit with an applied molding.

Video is in Pro 2021 -- don't have 2020 installed, but I think this should work in 2020 too. If not, use Landings to manually make the steps.
