Over 7 years and this is still being discussed?! In Pro 2024, and maybe in all of the them, the call out for a "left sliding window" means that the left side PANEL is the one that slides. as viewed from the exterior as is industry standard. It doesn't have anything to do with the direction it goes, yet logic would tell you that if it's the left panel, then to open it, it would slide to the right, as viewed from the exterior. The sliding panel shows being on the inside

Go to File>Backup entire plan>check "backup plan files and all referenced files" (this will capture any materials, etc you used in the plan and transfer them as well) and depending on size, check "Send backup files to zip archive". That should put a file on your desktop that you can then email to people as needed who have the same program. It will be helpful if you all have the current updates and same bonus catalogs downloaded to speed things up. Each person can rename the file before they send it to the next person with their name, etc. so the original one they got doesn't get overwritten or anything. It will help keep the changes current with each forward.

it may not let you push it into the wall, yet if you "transform/replicate" it the dimension you need, that often works. It kind of bypasses the default

Check the wall type material.

Do you have "auto build wall" and "auto build floor" framing turned on? Try your help or reference manual too

Change your default. The roof message is probably saying that the roof defaults won't change existing roof framing and that note can be checked to not show. Check if your walls are aligned with foundation to eliminate the "dog leg"

Do you know how to search the library for additional content online? The word "bonus" has nothing to do with it. Start with the library tab in the program

You'll want the program. Library >get content on line. Search the categories and you'll find it.

Same as with any of them. Find the catalog, click on the link and it shows you. No link, no preview. Very basic.

Bonus catalog has rail profiles for HDP 24. Don't know about decking since I don't use material list

Is your monitor set for 64 byte display, or 32?

It does happen on its own, as I have seen in this version. One can draw the walls, everything is fine. Then a simple change to another object can cause walls to revert the layers without the user having done anything. There are several issues I have seen in 2024 that weren't prevalent in previous versions. I have reported them to technical and they are looking at them. It seems with each new release, something that worked well before becomes corrupted. So it isn't something a user is doing and the software may have some code issues that cause something to change when it shouldn't.

That looks like it could be done with a valance

Try a manual dimension to the center of the door.

Try using "point to point" dimensions and be sure your "grid snaps" are off. Typically, for wood frame construction, dimensions for interior doors are to the center line of the door, and not jambs. Masonry will use rough opening for the preferred method of dimensionlng

Another way could be to keep the plan open when you are done deleting the layers you don't want to see. When you are done with the view as you want it, hit the "undo" button, which will reverse the changes you made. Once a plan is saved, then "undo" won't work. It will depend on what you are creating the view for as to whether this will be a simpler solution for you or not.

Did you check the bonus catalogs?

It looks like your wall layers are reversed, with the siding on the inside

If there are any doors marked on it with a size, you can start with that. Or knowing kitchen cabinets are usually 24" deep, 25" if they have the countertop drawn. Tubs are often 30" x 60". Try to find items in the plan that have known sizes, and you can probably scale from there.

You can use "marker" in your text drop down box. You can label it what you want, plus you can dimension to it. You can start with the camera as a section view so you can measure to the point you want. Then you should be able to pull the camera back to outside of the structure, and the locations will stay.

Some of the ability to change the joists may depend on which version of the program you are using. Last I knew, I think HD Pro was the only version where you could change the framing defaults.

Read through the reference manual or help link on each page

You should be able to start the house plan and draw the landscape afterwards. Do you have a plot plan that was done by a land surveyor? If it's in pdf format, you can import it into the plan. If the house is drawn on it, use the tool to set the scale from known dimensions. You'll want to make sure the structure is drawn square to the screen and you can rotate the pdf to align. Once that's done, you can draw your topography from the info on the plot plan.
