Suggest sending your plan to support. https://support.chiefarchitect.com/home And generally, when you have a problem, post a plan showing the problem. For example, for this plan, upload a plan with settings that cause the wall to disappear.

This type of problem should be reported to support. https://support.chiefarchitect.com/home

David -- try a cross section I've found the Dutch Gable feature to be rather buggy/poorly designed.

You don't need to model the entire house, you just need to understand how the program works enough to create your single room. The best place to start is HomeDesignerSoftware.com. Use the search there -- search for cape cod to start. I linked a few other resources above. You will need a roof, because it creates your ceiling.
-
Open the room, remove the moldings.
-
I agree. This is one of the many reasons I'm now using Chief Architect and not Home Designer. I'm able to add shadow boards (extra fascia trim) and moldings to represent a drip edge, for example, as well as a frieze that may also be multiple moldings, and define my own molding profiles, all easily and automatically.
-
Don't think you can. Probably need to use different software like SketchUp to model them, then import. Search my YouTube channel for custom backsplash for some ideas. A sloped soffit might also work.
-
Did you search for parapet gable on the Home Designer website?
-
The Tool Pallet has never shown when you select an object. The Edit Toolbar will show. Post a screen capture or 3 showing the problem.
-
That's up to you -- how accurate you want the model to look. They are symbols and used just for looks. You would still need walls to form rooms and to place doors and windows.
-
Log Siding 1 is a siding, not a round log and you cannot make it into one. You may adjust its height after applying it to a wall with the Adjust Material Definition tool. I have round log symbols in the library too.
-
And a picture of the cabin would help.
-
There are lots of log things in the library -- which one are you using?
-
No and no. This may help, although I did it in Chief, I think Pro has the tools needed. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/14826-stair-layout/?do=findComment&comment=125770

Suggest you create a room (maybe a Porch) at the top of the stairs to start. Post the plan file (after closing the software) for more help.
-
Not sure what you are asking. Thermo Ply may not be a stock material so you might need to make your own. See the links above for more info.
-
The Home Designer website is a good place to start your search for answers.
-
Try the Gable/Roof Line tool.
-
Something wrong with the audio.
-
Draw it manually. You might also create an Open Below room there and change the roof overhang to use in auto building the roof.
-
That's part of the wall below. You can make it invisible, or set the wall below to Balloon Through Ceiling Above.
-
Why do you wish to hide it?
-
What you want to change is the ceiling height. Draw what I suggested above. Divide the space with an interior wall where the ceiling heights change. Open the room specification and change the ceiling height. Generally, wall heights are controlled via ceiling height. Roofs build over rooms, so they are also affected by ceiling height.
-
Did you do what I suggested and build a new model? Why are you trying to adjust the exterior wall heights?
