    Door inset options

Is there any workaround for the same door inset issue but with doors that open inwards? With two layers for the external wall (as in the video) this only seems to help for doors that open outwards - when I choose an inwards opening door it resets the inset position to the default.

I know it's now historic, but I realised that I forgot to thank you for taking the time to make that video - thank you! It was very helpful and appreciated.
  3. @solver Thanks for the suggestion. When I turn on display of "Walls, Through Wall Lines" (this was originally turned off) I get an additional section of black line as below: Any idea how to prevent this? Thanks again.
  4. Hello, Can anyone suggest how to prevent the black lines from appearing where two different wall types are connected? The screenshot attached shows the issue. In this property we have stone walls all round with studs and insulation (the dark yellow) on the inside, however the insulation stops before the wall shown at the bottom of the image hence why there is a different wall type being used there. How can we prevent the black line from showing? Version: Home Designer Pro 2021 Thanks in advance, Chris
  5. Just wanted to say that this worked great - thanks very much for the suggestion.
  6. David, Thanks - I will try your suggested workaround. This construction is actually very common in the UK - ie an opening window in the roof with no shaft below. A lot of homeowners may end up flooring their attic space for storage (or sometimes convert the space into a room) and the rooflight will allow for ventilation and light. Cheers, Chris
  7. In Home Designer Pro 2021, how can I delete the shaft associated with a skylight in the roof? I am basically looking for there to be a 'window' in the roof without any shaft and no cutout in the floor below. The room below the attic has a ceiling above it so I can't uncheck the option for "Flat Ceiling Over This Room". However, if I do that it does remove the shaft but I end up with no ceiling (obviously). Attached is an image of the skylight with the shaft which I want to be deleted. Can anyone suggest how to do this please? Thanks in advance, Chris

    Door inset options

Have any improvements or new features been added in recent versions of Home Designer Pro to allow us to set the inset of doors? I have a door in a 600mm thick external stone wall which I need to be able to sit approximately 100mm in from the outside of the wall. Currently it sits at the internal side of the wall which is not desirable. My issue is basically identical to this issue which was reported in 2016: I would really prefer not to split the external walls into different layers as this is not a true representation of the actual wall. Screenshot of the door is attached - I want it to sit in the same way as the window to the left which has a 100mm inset. I'm using Home Designer Pro 2021. Thanks in advance for any advice, Chris
  9. That did the trick - thanks a lot!
  10. Sorry I totally forgot to mention the version i'm using - it's Home Designer Pro 2021. Thanks!
  11. Hello, Can anyone advise if it is possible to prevent double joists from automatically appearing at the end of a framing section without disabling automatic framing? I understand I could do it manually but don't want to turn off automatic framing yet as I have other floors to create in the model. The screenshot below shows an example of the double joists for reference: Thanks in advance, Chris
