  1. There is no magic in a stairwell, it's just an Open Below room. Draw walls on the floor above to form a room over the stairs. Make the room type Open Below.
  2. You can shape a slab or custom countertop and apply your choice of materials.
  3. Going forward, please post images directly (take a screen capture) -- no need to make a PDF of an image. This makes it easier for others as an image shows in the forum. Is the porch a slab? Do you want to see footings/stem walls etc on the foundation level?
  4. What does the porch look like? What do you want to see on the foundation? In plan or a 3D view?
  5. Here is a DWG. I removed some extras like furniture. 509_Lantana_Start_New_3_Align_Clubhouse__R_with_furnishings_and_Scullery_and_closet (eric).dwg
  6. What format would he like? I don't have an answer, but why not provide the plan on paper, or as a PDF etc.
  7. What are you doing that is resulting in that message? What type of view etc. Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/gOPq6ZYqzzM?hd=1

  9. Suggest sending your plan to support. https://support.chiefarchitect.com/home And generally, when you have a problem, post a plan showing the problem. For example, for this plan, upload a plan with settings that cause the wall to disappear.
  10. This type of problem should be reported to support. https://support.chiefarchitect.com/home
  11. David -- try a cross section I've found the Dutch Gable feature to be rather buggy/poorly designed.
  12. You don't need to model the entire house, you just need to understand how the program works enough to create your single room. The best place to start is HomeDesignerSoftware.com. Use the search there -- search for cape cod to start. I linked a few other resources above. You will need a roof, because it creates your ceiling.
  13. Open the room, remove the moldings.

    Angles & Trim

I agree. This is one of the many reasons I'm now using Chief Architect and not Home Designer. I'm able to add shadow boards (extra fascia trim) and moldings to represent a drip edge, for example, as well as a frieze that may also be multiple moldings, and define my own molding profiles, all easily and automatically.

Don't think you can. Probably need to use different software like SketchUp to model them, then import. Search my YouTube channel for custom backsplash for some ideas. A sloped soffit might also work.
  16. Did you search for parapet gable on the Home Designer website?
  17. The Tool Pallet has never shown when you select an object. The Edit Toolbar will show. Post a screen capture or 3 showing the problem.

    Log Cabin

That's up to you -- how accurate you want the model to look. They are symbols and used just for looks. You would still need walls to form rooms and to place doors and windows.

    Log Cabin

Log Siding 1 is a siding, not a round log and you cannot make it into one. You may adjust its height after applying it to a wall with the Adjust Material Definition tool. I have round log symbols in the library too.

    Log Cabin

And a picture of the cabin would help.

    Log Cabin

There are lots of log things in the library -- which one are you using?
  22. No and no. This may help, although I did it in Chief, I think Pro has the tools needed. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/14826-stair-layout/?do=findComment&comment=125770
