Please take a minute and add Suite 2018 to your signature. Keeps me and others from searching for this info. Start by checking this setting and rebuild the foundation. It may or may not help to make the model match the house. Define the porch with a room divider wall instead of a railing. Check the library for columns and place them manually. Check the bonus catalogs available on the website for other columns. You can make the porch floor thicker so it fills in below, or on the foundation level, draw in new walls.

I'd suggest calling or emailing sales to see what an upgrade would do for you and how much it would cost. Also to find out if you could use your older version with your current OS, and if a newer version would be able to open and use your plan. They have trial versions too, so downloading and trying yourself is also an option. All the current titles except Pro have the same, somewhat limited roof tools, but should do what you want. I started with the software in 2014, so cannot speak about anything prior to that.

If you are thinking about a light in the sidewall of the pool, lights attach to walls, so draw in a short wall where you want the light. Place the light on the wall, then make the wall invisible.
-
Forgot to add these images. You must add your own lights. And try turning on these 2 settings. They may be in a different location in Architectural.
-
I added several default light sources in front of the cabinets. The software uses a single default light source, and in your plan, it's placed in the hall putting the cabinets in shadow. If you place a room divider so the hall is a separate room, the lighting will by default be in the room with your camera. Also suggest adjusting this setting.

Thanks. The program is not set up to automatically do this, but may be done manually. You can change the foundation wall type, or delete a wall and draw in a replacement. In your case, using a Railing Wall set as Post to Beam might work well.

I opened your plan in Architectural 2018, set the pitch to 4, and it works just like my image above which came from Premier. Upgrades to 2018 are $40.00.
-
Did you change the pitch?
-
I reduced the pitch on the front porch wall to 3 and this is the result. Is this generally what you want? If this is an existing house, can you post an image showing the roof?
-
Thanks for the sig update. Post your plan file -- make sure it's not open in Architectural, and someone will have a look.

Article in the Knowledge Base.

Probably a lighting issue. What do they look like in a Dollhouse view? Post the plan file and someone will have a look.
-
I don't know what the issue is with your plan, but I deleted your foundation, then built a new blank one and drew in the walls using a Pony Wall. Seems to work as it should. You may be able to just delete 1 wall at a time and redraw.

What is "as it should"? Will the insulation be covered? Looking at the plan I noticed this ...

Use a Backclipped Cross Section camera. Here I used a Point to Point dimension which snapped to the peak and terrain. Sometimes, depending on the plan, it helps to draw a CAD line from the peak out over the terrain and then measure between it and the terrain. You can also place points and then measure between them.

You have the plat and the location of the house on it. Enter this information into the software in a new plan -- a single CAD line representing one front wall on the house, and one corner is all you need for the house. Select that line, get its angle, then select everything and rotate so that that line is now parallel with the bottom of the screen. Select everything and copy into the the file with your plan.Use Point to Point Move from the house corner located on the plat to the same corner on the drawn house. I did not see where the article said you could assign vertical up in Pro.
-
I'm not clear about you have but will assume the terrain has been adjusted to represent your plat and the house is on the terrain in its correct position. The house walls are not square with the screen (drawing sheet). I would get the angle of a house wall, then rotate the entire plan so that the front house wall is square with the screen. Posting your plan file, or a screen capture of what you have drawn will help.

That doesn't look like a foundation, maybe just slats between concrete piers. What do you think?

Is your house located on your plat -- the paper version? Is the house already drawn on the terrain?
