  1. I imagine you need some of the Bonus Catalogs. They need to be manually downloaded and installed. I will encourage you to move the terrain and not the floor. The program is designed so that dimensions are relative to the floor 1 floor. Curious where in Texas. Native Texan here -- Houston then Austin.
  2. You want to see the edges of the door and drawers all together in one section? I should ask what you are wanting to do. Have you tried a Back Clipped Cross Section?
  3. Check the Build Rood Dialog, Roof Styles. Read up on the Gullwing roof type.
  4. I did not measure, but all you need to do is adjust the terrain up or down. patio plan temp (eric).plan
  5. The interior floor is fine. Why do you think it needs to come down? If you are worried about the floor at the garage door, put a wall in to divide the garage and call that space a Garage. Can't answer without understanding how your house is built. Again, it's not important. Make the foundation taller, then raise the terrain so it is the correct distance below the porch. Don't mess with the house floor -- it's correct. Here is the house with the changes i suggested above.
  6. Because you are looking for a visual and not an accurate structural model, I would make the foundation 48" high and the terrain will hide the excess. Then raise the terrain so the spacing between it and the porch is correct. Open the patio and lower it -- give the Floor field a negative value. Your yard is sloped, so you may want to work with the terrain giving it the same slope. I suggested you make the porch floor thick was so you could rebuild the foundation and not need to manually redraw foundation walls under the porch. Again, you are looking for a visual, and any excess would be hidden by the terrain. And keep in mind that measurements are relative to your 0 (zero) height first floor.

    Floor Problems

When one room is different that all the others in structure, take a look at the rooms that are correct and compare with the incorrect space
  8. Looking at a section view will make the numbers clear.
  9. Sorry -- I forget how stupidly limited Suite is. Try this. I just used 24" as an example. You can paint the thick wood as concrete, or you might be able to set it so in defaults.
  10. Change the Room Type to Porch. You have made the floor finish thicker, and a Porch has no Floor Finish, so increase the thickness of the slab. You can move the slab up or down using the floor setting under Structure.
  11. What's too high? Image? Your porches are well above the ground (terrain). What do you want to lower?
  12. Please take a minute and add Suite 2018 to your signature. Keeps me and others from searching for this info. Start by checking this setting and rebuild the foundation. It may or may not help to make the model match the house. Define the porch with a room divider wall instead of a railing. Check the library for columns and place them manually. Check the bonus catalogs available on the website for other columns. You can make the porch floor thicker so it fills in below, or on the foundation level, draw in new walls.
  13. I'd suggest calling or emailing sales to see what an upgrade would do for you and how much it would cost. Also to find out if you could use your older version with your current OS, and if a newer version would be able to open and use your plan. They have trial versions too, so downloading and trying yourself is also an option. All the current titles except Pro have the same, somewhat limited roof tools, but should do what you want. I started with the software in 2014, so cannot speak about anything prior to that.
  14. The Home Designer products do not have this ability.
  15. What software are you using -- Home Designer Interiors or Chief Interiors?
  16. If you are thinking about a light in the sidewall of the pool, lights attach to walls, so draw in a short wall where you want the light. Place the light on the wall, then make the wall invisible.
  17. Forgot to add these images. You must add your own lights. And try turning on these 2 settings. They may be in a different location in Architectural.
  18. I added several default light sources in front of the cabinets. The software uses a single default light source, and in your plan, it's placed in the hall putting the cabinets in shadow. If you place a room divider so the hall is a separate room, the lighting will by default be in the room with your camera. Also suggest adjusting this setting.
  19. Thanks. The program is not set up to automatically do this, but may be done manually. You can change the foundation wall type, or delete a wall and draw in a replacement. In your case, using a Railing Wall set as Post to Beam might work well.
  20. I opened your plan in Architectural 2018, set the pitch to 4, and it works just like my image above which came from Premier. Upgrades to 2018 are $40.00.
  21. Did you change the pitch?
  22. I reduced the pitch on the front porch wall to 3 and this is the result. Is this generally what you want? If this is an existing house, can you post an image showing the roof?
  23. Thanks for the sig update Sandy. Ask if you don't find or understand what you are looking for.
  24. Thanks for the sig update. Post your plan file -- make sure it's not open in Architectural, and someone will have a look.
