    Lost Wall Detail

Undo. Tell us what you are trying to accomplish by not showing a wall in plan, but showing it in a camera view.
  2. The auto roof builder easily does this. Selecting the roof planes is easy, positioning them accurately over the house is not.
  3. What are you doing with this house? Are you planning a remodel?
  4. Your roof should easily build automatically -- have you tried? Hit undo to get back to where the house is under the roof, then use Edit>Edit Area (All Floors). Marquee around the house and move everything at once.
  5. What type of files are they? What extension should they have? Have you copied them to your hard disk and renamed them?

    Wall Coverings

Use a Custom Backsplash. It may be shaped to follow the roof.
  8. Have you looked in the bonus catalogs available on the website? I believe there is a Home Fitness catalog, but not sure it's available for Home Designer. The 3D Warehouse (google it) will have symbols you are able to import.
  9. If you moved the 1st floor plan after pasting into the new plan, the 2nd floor will not match. A plan is based on a coordinate system. The floors relate to each other based on coordinates within your specific plan. Floors are not connected in any way.
  10. Yep, my bad. I forget, excepting Pro, how limited the software is. The problem will probably be that you are moving from multiple plans into one, so you will likely end up placing one structure on top of another. I looked at my trial of Architectural and it seems the only way to move an entire structure from one place to another easily is with dimensions. Drawing 2 CAD lines marking a corner of where you want to move to, placing a dimension line from the line to a wall, selecting the structure, then changing the dimension to 0. Turn off the display of roof planes to make this easier.
  11. Edit>Edit Area Select All Floors. Marquee around what you want to copy. Copy then paste into your new plan.

    Specialty Storage

You could make an open cabinet and should be able to slide the refrigerator into it. Use a soffit, shape it to form a countertop and place it over the refrigerator. Use a base cabinet that is 1-1/2" tall so only the countertop remains. The wine racks in the library insert into a cabinet, or you can place one by itself (shown on left cabinet), but you will need add a box around it. There are wine rack cabinets in the library too. You could use one of these, remove the countertop (or change the countertop), and toe kick, then place it on top of another cabinet/countertop (shown on right).
  13. To automatically align, the walls need to be defined the same, not just be the same thickness. Alignment is done to the main layer outside, so make the parapet wall match the lower wall and it should work. For many questions like this, posting a simple plan demonstrating the problem would be helpful. Here just copying 2 walls and placing them into a second plan would be ideal.
  14. That's because it is an object and not a window or door. You should be able to move it freely by holding the Control key, and Transform/Replicate and Point to Point move are also sometimes useful. And thanks for the signature.
  15. Search the site for nana. You will find info on a door symbol that may be useful.

    To answer your question, yes.
  17. Notice what's not checked?
  18. Are you looking at the 2nd layer of your floor framing?
  19. Check your defaults, then delete and rebuild the foundation.
  20. Post your plan file and I'll have a look. Close Pro before doing so.
  21. The ideal way is to set the defaults first, then draw. Setting the defaults afterwards requires that you force a rebuild of 1st floor, floor framing by rebuilding the foundation. You should check, and leave checked, Automatically Rebuild Foundation. If you have a 2nd floor already built and wish to change, change the structure here and check rebuild.

And you do need to delete and redraw the Terrain as Jo Ann outlined above.

These are the numbers I used for the guest house. Change it from a Garage to a Living Room. Then use these numbers. Start at the top and work down.
