  1. Don't think there is a way -- not even in Chief.
  2. First project I did in Pro. Used standard roof truss. You can use a Custom Backsplash. Draw it against a wall, then move. If you want the wood grain correct, use multiple backsplashes -- one for each member and a material rotated to the correct angle.
  3. Manual dormers and manual roof planes, or explode the dormers you have and edit.

    Changing Pitch

Select all the roof planes, open them and change.
  5. You can shape the terrain in HD to match the SketchUp model, or place items (plants etc) on the flat terrain, then open it and raise its position.

    Bow Windows

I believe it is. I'd recommend not using the Box/Bay/Bow built in window tools as what they generate has limits on what may be changed, unless you need exactly what they do build.
  8. I think as you said above, a reinstall may fix the problem. If you delete the template directories -- there are 2, one is a backup copy, and then do an install with the repair option, you should get the latest templates. Look in Preferences and you will find a list of directories where things are stored. there should be a button to Show All or similar. One of the first things I did after buying Pro was to modify the default template (profile.plan at the time, probably still the same). It's just a regular plan file so you can open and save it like any other plan, although you may need to change the permissions so it can be overridden. You can change defaults, like window styles, foundation settings etc, and when you start a new plan using that template, all the defaults will be set.
  9. Start with Edit>Reset To Defaults. Choose All Floors and Roof Directives in Walls. Then follow this trail for some relevant info.
  10. Same problem as you -- cannot get the camera to not display. Try this plan. camera test.plan
  11. Attach that file and I'll have a look.
  12. Are you using the default template profile.plan or one of your own? The video above is using the out of box defaults for the Pro 2020 trial. Yours should work the same unless you've changed something.
  13. Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/rrOBU33IN0M?hd=1
  14. Like what? That roof should easily auto build given correct settings.
  15. Build roof dialog -- not in a wall dialog. Then go to Edit>Reset To Defaults, choose Roof Directives In Walls (only if you have changed pitch for a specific wall -- and you will need to set gable and returns again). Draw walls outlining it. Change the room type to porch. Make the walls invisible.
  16. Change the roof pitch and draw in the porch. Forget for now about the gable over the porch. Once the basic look is correct, post your plan file and someone may help with the gable.
  17. With Suite you will need to use a manually placed soffit for the lower wall.
  18. Post the plan file and I'll have a look.
  19. You asked about adding the notches, not the vents ...
  20. I believe the SketchUp version and the Home Designer version need to be the same, or Home Designer newer. You can download the Pro 2020 trial and test.
  21. You have tried multiple symbols? That message is when there is only CAD -- no 3D in the import. I believe there is a version match requirement too.
  22. This is the type of question that is easy to answer for yourself. Simply create a plan, and try it.

    Plot Plan

    Where did you look?
  24. Saving the camera only saves the camera position and settings. It, along with everything else is saved when you save the plan file.
