  1. Post your request here: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/forum/15-seeking-services/
  2. When you look at the Templates folder, you will see files with a M at the end of the name, like ProfileM.plan. Those are the metric templates. You will need to do the same -- just start with a metric template, and save it with the M. At least I think that should work.
  3. Yep. File>Save Thumbnail Image Even Suite has this.
  4. Did a quick video on making your own template.
  5. This is an unsupported, but safe method for creating your own custom templates. Set up your defaults in a new template or templates, and use them when starting a new plan. Unrehearsed and unscripted, so ask questions below. Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/JIvZ86tkIyc?hd=1
  6. Please update your signature. That's not the way the program works. Here is a structure with 8' walls and the default 8' garage door. My guess is you drew your shed with 9' walls. Open the room, on the Structure panel, set the ceiling height to be whatever you want. Or, even better, open Defaults, set the ceiling height, then and rooms you create will be correct.
  7. Open a new plan. Copy/paste wall from another plan. Delete the newly copied wall. Save, close, then open the new plan. The wall type is still available. Take that new plan and replace the profile.plan file that HD uses as the default template. Now when you open a new plan using the default template, that wall type will be available.
  8. You copy/paste a wall, not a wall type. Once a wall is in the plan it becomes available in the wall types list.
  9. Make your porch room using room divider walls. Use railing walls when you want railings. And for the best help, attach your plan file. A picture of the plan rarely helps.
  10. A forum search for window label should find some info. Check All Search Terms
  11. Have you looked in Help? It tells you what you need to know, and should be the first place you look with questions.
  12. You do need to generate a new materials list when you make changes. If you add a wall for example, its framing will not show in an existing materials list.
  13. If you will attach your plan file (close Pro first), I'll take a look.
  14. You must build framing. You have the option to turn on automatically rebuild framing, or just build framing once.
  15. And as I'm sure you have discovered, the software does not do round rooms well at all. Chief has a handy tool to cut openings in a roof, but it only works for square/rectangular holes.
  16. The hole in the roof of the lower structure is cutting off the walls.

    Faulty Roof

You can use the manual roof tools to correct.

  19. Thanks for the sig Deanna. Posting images (.jpg or .png) works best as they show directly in the forum. Use a screen capture tool to make them. And attaching your plan file (yourplan.plan) can be helpful too, and in this case i think someone will need it to help. Close Suite before attaching.

Suite is very limited when it comes to this type of thing. You can draw CAD objects -- a Box or Polyline and dimension to them.

I don't understand what you are trying to do. What do you want to locate? Locate how? What is causing you to "continually check the dimension".

    Half-Wall Height

This is a room without a roof or ceiling, but the ceiling height raised. I drew in a ceiling plane that I removed the ceiling surface from, so that only the framing shows. This might form the basis of your pergola. With Pro, you can edit, move etc these framing members. With Pro I believe you can select a wall and grab the top or bottom handle and drag the top or bottom up or down. I don't recommend this as it can have unwanted side effects.
