  1. LawB10, the plan is not corrupted. It was done in an early version of Suite, and that is how it will display. I think the floor and ceiling have no ceiling finish thickness, because SBBranch set it that way for some unknown reason. In this particular plan, I think that drawing all the interior walls before getting the roof correct, is detrimental.

  3. I don't know if this will help you, because all the roof settings are very sensitive to room size and ceiling heights, and this was all done with "auto build roof". If you manage to get your main roof correct, then the projection (at the peak of the main gable) is easy to do with manual roof control. Eric...What happened to your video? Kusmic Lane roof.plan
  4. That is true. But with Suite, this is probably the only way to make it look correct, and also be a floor that the stairs will respond to. The stair landing method also works, but doesn't look right because the tread overhang can not be removed.
  5. I see that Suite does not have a foundation wall listed in the wall toolbar. So, draw ANY type of wall on the foundation level, then open it and change it to a stem wall. To fix the garage stairs: 1. delete the stairs 2. On the foundation level, I see that you already have a foundation "divider" wall (creating a "raised area" room). Open that wall and change it to a "room divider" wall (because the foundation type wall is causing problems in the garage level 1). 3. Open the "raised area" room, and change floor (C) to -30" (this raises that area 5"). 4. On the garage level, make sure that the existing " room divider" wall (that you placed?) is aligned with the wall below. 5. Redraw the stairs. You may notice that you now have a gap between the raised area and the garage floor. That is because the "raised area" has been raised 5", but the floor structure slab is only 4" thick. Place a soffit outside the garage on the foundation level, and set it's "floor to bottom" to -28", then move it into position against the foundation "room divider", resize it, and change it's material to concrete. The gap on floor 1 should be gone (covered by the soffit).
  6. I'm confused as to which style roof you want, but I think that the roof pitches that you mentioned are not going to work. The shed/dormer, and porch roofs need to be a lower pitch. The main gable needs to be a higher pitch. Which style are you wanting?
  7. I think that you are wanting to bring more attention to the height of the house, and divert attention from the really long length of the structure? I would start with the front door. Adding a sidelight gives the entry more impact. Make the front porch wider, so that you can add board & batten siding in that area for interest (also gives the porch more oomph). Add the stone to the entire front bay projection. Lastly...window boxes added beneath the 2 smaller windows help to visually elongate/heighten that area (at very little cost), and add some seasonal color.
  8. If you have turned OFF "auto build roof" (as per your last post), then why would you think that your overhang should rebuild?

    wall definitions

You should be seeing these dialog boxes. You would then choose 16" oc from the library drop down, that also shows.
  10. It has nothing to do with the pitch of the roof. Extend the left wall across as shown. In the new "room" that is highlighted, start lowering the ceiling until the roof blends with the roof on the left.
  11. When opening your plan in Windows 10, the 3d cam shows the mirror correctly. I started a new plan, and placed the same mirror (from the library) in the new plan. The 3d cam shows the mirror correctly. So, I used the rainbow tool to see the define material boxes of the mirror in each plan. The material color settings and the properties settings are both identical, in each plan. However, the kettles do not look the same. ??? You are using a mac and maybe that has something to do with it? OR, maybe check the settings for the graphics card on your laptop. This might be something that tech support can help with.
  12. ERIC..You get the gold star! That is exactly what I did to "fix" the problem. But, I only used the pony wall exactly where the door molding begins, eliminating having to do any fill-in. Someone using Suite, would have to make that portion of the wall "invisible", and then deal with filling in above the door with a soffit or box shape. I still don't know why this happens. Is it a programming glitch (?), kind of like the "Widow's Walk" (glitch?).
  13. Question for Eric & DJP: How would you fix this if it were done in HD Architectural, which has no manual roof tools? Scenario: 1. Slide the bath window out of the way, put in the wall break. 2. CTRL X the garage door, and put in the wall break. Open the wall section and set as "gable". 3. Slide the bath window back into original position...No problem. 4. Paste/Hold Position the garage door back in place. NOW there's a problem. If the garage room is designated as "unspecified", then the door is normal. As soon as it is re-set to a "garage", the problem reappears. Why does this happen, and how is it fixed?

    Widow's Walk

And if you still want to lower the floor of the widow's walk, you only need to do this. Oops. Looks like you already did that.

    Widow's Walk

YES! Architectural 2018 has the same problem, but I didn't realize that Pro 2018 also had that problem. Here's the fix: Open the wall, to the rail style tab. Raise the bottom rail to 16" (If that's what you want). Then get a closed box shape from the library. Set it's height to 16", resize it's depth, and control/drag it under the railing.

    Widow's Walk

In the new plan you uploaded, you haven't applied any of the directions given. Height control of the lower wall of the pony wall...YES, there is control.

    Widow's Walk

I suspect that maybe your roof plane is preventing the railing from "popping up". Try pulling back the roof plane from the 4th floor wall.

    Widow's Walk

The stairs I created originate from the 3rd floor to the widow's deck. You will have to also add a set of stairs from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor. Did you set the upper wall of the pony wall to be a railing? Did you open the railing tab of the wall specification box, and put a check mark in the "specify railing" box?

That appears to be a saltbox type roof.

    MULTIPLE SHED ROOFS

And therein presents the big elephant in the room, "all vaulted ceilings". When I said post the plan, I meant the plan FILE. Not images. Before posting the plan file, try to make the structure as complete as possible. Roof pitch and basic ceiling heights are important. If you intend to add the porch, then you need to do that also before posting the plan. Close your HDA program before uploading the plan.
  21. By now you probably know that the only quick way to fix that, is to uncheck "hide terrain intersected by building". This works fine if you are only exporting images to your client. Of course, if you have a finished basement, you will then have to re-check that option. It is what it is. Unless, you want to insert an exterior item (slab maybe?) at ground level up against the entire foundation perimeter, with a grass material applied.

    MULTIPLE SHED ROOFS

The exterior of this design is fairly easy to do, BUT...the interior could be a problem (depending on what you want). And, you haven't provided enough info for your intentions on the interior. This is much more complicated to do with Architectural, as opposed to Pro. Posting your plan might help.
