  1. I think most areas have guidelines as to how much exposed foundation needs to be there. I would never advise siding to go to grade. Should there be any porous material behind it, it could cause a "wicking" situation & pull moisture up behind the siding. Plus there's always chances of damage to it from snow removal equipment, de-icer, etc. Just my 2 cents.
  2. Thank you Eric, it worked.
  3. I have found that with Pro 2018, rarely does the sf show on the first floor. Seems to be in the basement and 2nd floor fine though.
  4. Hi Bob, Maybe try it as a custom countertop?
  5. Hi Jeff, I don't have Suite, yet maybe something like adjusting the bottom heights of each appliance will let you stack them? If all 3 have the same or interfering locations, it will probably give you that error.

  7. Hello, I have attached an example of what I use for projects that don't need to go on 18 x 24 paper. As long as you have the "text" function, you can make a version of this for your own use. I hope it helps? title page example.pdf
  8. Maybe try creating the tread in the direction the grain runs w/the material. Once it's set, rotate the item 90 degrees and maybe the grain will stay with it? Justa thought, haven't tried it & working on a project right now. Good luck!
  9. Hi, Yes, they have added "L" and "U" shaped stairs to the basic functions. A few new options in the defaults too. It would be great if at some point they would add 2 and 3 wide double hung combinations. Centering the mull all the time gets to be a pain in the rear end. I did do a deck & tried the Azek railing. The result wasn't ideal, so I used the default program deck parts & changed the color to white for all of the items. Seemed to keep the structure easier to build. Haven't done anything with the moldings yet though. Good luck!
  10. The porch is on the ground level with the roof starting from under the windows. They want an enclosed vestibule where the front door is. If that was done w/a porch too, then I can go from there. Thank you for the help!
  11. Jo_Ann, That's very nice, thank you. They also want a screened porch to the left side of the house to fit under the windows. How did you do what you did?
  12. Nice, thank you. The trick to this whole thing is that they want to put a porch/patio in the front of the house. There just isn't much room to get a roof to fit under the upper level windows & have any headroom inside. Been a bugger trying to get something to work. Plus they wanted a vestibule area to enclose the front door area.
  13. Hi, Attached is the plan. The overhang needs to extend 74" to the left over the door. It is 20" above the door at the bottom. Thank you for the help. PC-JDunn-roof over entry.plan
  14. Ok. Yet how do I get the room to break that way. The roof is good, other than once I can get the bump out over it, I can draw it to match. I had thought of a separate room for that area, with a raised floor or something to form the "cube?"
  15. Hi all, I am looking for help in getting the overhang of the roof to go over the door as shown below. I need to keep the ridge centered as is & wasn't sure of the best way to achieve this? Thank you for any help.
  16. For the Automatic Exterior dimensions, change "locate objects" on windows & doors to "center". You can also eliminate things you don't want to have included. For interior, I have found manual dimension to be the best way to keep the plan cleaner. Hope this helps a little
  17. Depending on what software you have, use "pony wall."

    Bump out wall

Eric, Thank you for all of the help. Worked like a charm.

    Bump out wall

It looks like it could work. Only problem is every time I try to open the plan in 2015, it says it was written by a newer version. When I try to open 2016, it says program is already running. How can I get into this plan to work on it? I am a bit lost, to say the least.

    Bump out wall

yes, because I need to be able to put a gable over that area as shown in the original pictire, which I can't do with a box bay.

    Bump out wall

Here is what I get when I add a room divider & raise the floor up so it forms a separate room so I can make it a gable wall.

    Bump out wall

Hi, I am trying to recreate the bump out window on the left side of the plan. I have tried using room dividers & raising the floor up. That just leaves an open gap under the window. Any help is appreciated. I will need to put a gable over this section as well Thank you. PZ-59 Winter.plan
  23. Thank you all. Will give it a try. I appreciate the help very much.
