There are multiple ways. Depends on your setup. Many people use a service like Dropbox where files are replicated to the cloud and accessible from any computer anywhere. There are solutions that existed pre internet. You don't say what type of system -- Mac or Windows you have, but there are solutions specific to both.

That's the problem. Remove that layer and create a new drywall material in the color of your choice.

Cannot be changed directly. Each of the Template Plans you may choose when starting a new plan use different casings and other trim/settings that cannot be changed directly in the program. Suggest you open a new plan using the various templates to see the differences. You can copy/paste between plans.

Is that how you want the roof? I avoid 2 gables coming together like that and would make the wall marked in green a Hip wall. No idea why the walls disappear.

This sounds like a problem with your video card drivers. Maybe the drivers were updated recently? You might need to go back to an older version. This image shows the problem clearly, better than words, and eliminates the need to download the plan. A soffit should have no effect on these items and is the standard way of dealing with this problem. Here is another way.

One of the biggest shortcomings is no support for face mounted components. There are ways around this, but they are a pain. This is well discussed on ChiefTalk. Even Chief Premier falls way short when doing decks and deck railings, but it's much better than any of the Home Designer products. Could you post pictures of the railings you wish to show?

Did you search Help for filler?

Instead of painting a tile material on the drywall, use the Custom Backsplash tool. Change the default tile to your chosen tile and it will show in the materials list under the Cabinet category.

This is for Windows, Mac probably has something similar. I copied this from my response on a thread on ChiefTalk where the user wanted to change the location of the Templates folder. ----------------- You need to create a link (Junction) that tells Windows that one folder is really located, and possibly named differently, somewhere else. I created the directory D:\T-Test and copied the contents of the Templates folder to it. I renamed the Templates folder creating a backup. I then used the mklink command to create a link (junction) from Templates to D:\T-Test Now Chief accesses the Templates folder that's really a junction that points to D:\T-Test, and sees all the files as expected. ---- To use the MKLink tool, you have to open a command prompt in administrator mode. Here's the easiest way to do so: Click the Start button. Type CMD in the Start Search box. Press and hold down [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[Enter]. A UAC dialog box will appear, and you'll have to respond accordingly. Change the directory to Templates In my case I used the command cd "D:\Users\e\Documents\Chief Architect Premier X11 Data" I then used the mklink command mklink /j Templates D:\T-Test ------ The new directory can be anywhere and named anything. You can delete the Templates link (junction) you created, rename the backup templates folder to Templates and you are back to the OOB setup.
