You should start attaching your plan file for questions like this. There are many settings and different ways of doing things and just looking at an image shows where you are, but not how you got there.
-
Do you have Ignore Top Floor checked in the build roof dialog?
-
That looks like a limitation of Architectural. Pro has settings that make the dimensions work as you want. Also noticed one wall is not square with the grid.
-
Use Edit Area (All Floors) to cut out the kitchen, save in a new plan. Make sure the glasses look OK. Or you can copy the plan, then use Edit Area to delete parts you do not want.
-
As for the wine glasses. If you attach the plan file, I'll take a look.

I won't say these are better, maybe just different. There are websites where you may download textures -- some free some not. Stainless Steel Library_Mick.calibz

You need to redraw the walls, not change them. Draw a new exterior wall off to the side and see if it shows as you expect. It has to do with the layer the wall is on. Something you cannot directly control.
-
Try only using 2 walls to define the lower deck.

Thanks. Please add the year as well -- looks like you have 2022. Try Edit>Delete Objects

Only Pro has the ability to edit (select, delete etc) framing. And it's almost always helpful to attach a screen capture showing your issue.

Roofs build over rooms. Room height, and roof height, is set by the ceiling height of the room. I'm leaving out some things to keep this simple. Go to the Home Designer website and search cod. Look at the first article in the results. In a new plan, draw 4 walls to form a room. build a 2nd floor taking all the defaults. Look at it in 3D. On the 2nd floor, change the ceiling height of the room by 4'. Look in 3D. What changed?

Review these options Sometimes you need to work with the tools available even when they do not do what you want. If you really need a single room, copy that room to a new plan, change the walls to ones with drywall only on one side. As someone who hangs drywall, I'd do the takeoff manually. I'm working on a room addition now that will use a mix of 8' and 12' boards, some 48" wide, some 54". There are large windows and I'll use the cutouts from them. I don't think the software is smart enough to do what I can do.

What I'm asking for is something like this: I want to do (fill in a description). Looking at page 773 in the reference manual I see this (quote reference manual), but it does not make sense. There is no (fill in problem here) when I look at page 83.
-
I still don't know what information you are trying to find in the docs. Why are you looking at page 773 in the reference manual? I don't have Pro 2020 installed, but the 2021 reference has this. Active camera symbols and callouts use the Selection Line color set in the Preferences dialog. All other display attributes are derived from the “Cameras” layer. See “Colors Panel” on page 64. There are errors in the manual. When changes are made to the software, those changes are not always reflected in the manual. And the above might be better written with the insertion of a comma after the word color. Active camera symbols and callouts use the Selection Line color, set in the Preferences dialog. All other display attributes are derived from the “Cameras” layer. See “Colors Panel” on page 64.

Why are you asking? What are you trying to do?

Just a tip. Set defaults like ceiling height, wall types and anything else you know before drawing. See the links below. Draw all the exterior walls on all floors. Add any walls that define exterior rooms that have a roof (like a porch). Draw an interior wall to form the garage and make it a Garage room type. Now work on the roof. You may need to add interior walls to control how the roof builds, but try adding only the ones you need. Think about how the program builds roofs over rooms. What if that alcove was a room with a Room Type of Open Below.
-
Attach the plan. Draw a new wall and try it. Copy a wall from your test plan to the problem plan.
-
I don't know of a setting for primary wall side. What are you wanting to do that's not working? What dimension tool are you using? An annotated screen capture would probably help.
-
The program isn't able to trim the posts where the meet a sloped roof. You will need to fill in manually.
-
You have one Layer Set. A Layer Set contains multiple layers.
-
There are several ways. What do you see when you look below the Match Roof button?
-
You do need to upsize your layout (border, title block etc). The program does not expand or contract it automatically. Create a new layout naming it so you know what it is, then open it before you send to it.
