  1. A Wall Covering is ideal for what you asked about. Did you consider it?
  2. Also check this setting if you are not seeing the startup screen.
  3. There are no multiple defaults in Home Designer. It's been suggested and Chief added something similar to the Chief Architect products 2 versions ago. You can group select cabinets -- all uppers in a kitchen, for example and change all at once. You can restrict a marquee selection to only uppers by first selection the upper cabinet tool, hold Shift and marquee select. Base cabinets work the same. Full height cabinets need to be selected individually because using the above Shift selection method, first selecting the full height tool restricts the selection to all cabinets, not just the full height.
  4. Any time you do something manually to something that is being auto rebuilt, the program will ask if you want to turn of auto rebuild. It's up to you to make the decision to say yes or no. The default template has all the auto rebuild things like roofs and foundations set to auto rebuild.
  5. Just looking at your image, it's unclear what's happened. An elevation from the front and side will help. Is your foundation on level 0 and the house on level 1?
  6. Search the forum and my YouTube channel for wall dormer.
  7. Why are you intent on showing insulation between the studs? No one, not permitting officials, not an insulation contractor, not a builder needs this. If you feel a need to show an example, create a wall detail showing several feet of wall.
  8. It sounds like the terrain is not preventing you from doing anything, it's just not in the correct place. You need to lower the terrain where the new building will sit. I'm not much help on terrains as I only use very basic ones in my models. Suggest you attach the plan file (close Pro first) and maybe someone will take a look.
  9. I don't know any way to control that dimension directly. I can think of a work around, but it's not perfect. Suggest you do as you proposed.
  10. Select an object, look in the Status Bar.
  11. Did you read to the end of that thread?

    Dormer Question

That's called a wall dormer. A bit of searching will find some ideas.
  14. I'm sure there is a video or two on this.
  15. Turning it off. Close Pro and attach the plan file and I'll take a look.
  16. There is a toolbar on the far right. Look for the Fill Window tools.

    WALL CONSTRUCTION

I understand the idea, but why are you asking? If you want a ledge there, build one In a small house, it sounds like a waste of space unless your cabinets will be extra deep too. I once did 30" deep counters in a house of mine for a similar reason -- to keep clutter at the back of the counter top. I also made the upper cabinets deeper to match, and you might consider access to your shelves if your cabinets are further from the wall.
