Read about these settings.

I would. I assume these items are in your library. If you place them from there, how do they look?

Think of it like a picture. Make an image with your text.

Circle converted to a countertop. Add molding for the outer ring. Small countertops, but slabs would also work, for the inlay. Raised 1/16" so they show. Place point in center of circle, draw one quadrant, Transform/Replicate about point to fill in the other 3.

With the door selected, there is a diamond grip on the door itself. Grab it and drag to the opposite side of the wall, or drag left or right to reposition the track.

I don't do much dimensioning, but looked at how to dimension a framing section and it seems impossible. This is frequently discussed (the lack of snaps for framing) on cross section and elevations over on ChiefTalk. Framers will typically locate openings via dimensions on plan. The centers or edges will be dimensioned for side to side, and a head height will be specified for vertical location. Sometimes a window will have a note Center on Wall when an exact dimension is not important. A window and or door schedule might give additional details. Too much information is as bad as not having enough. Imagine providing a framing detail sheet for every wall in a house. Far better to call out special requirements where they exist.

I created a 2nd cabinet for the drawers and placed it within the other cabinet.

A Wall Covering is ideal for what you asked about. Did you consider it?

Wall Covering or a Pony Wall

Also check this setting if you are not seeing the startup screen.

You need to Open, or create a new file.

There are no multiple defaults in Home Designer. It's been suggested and Chief added something similar to the Chief Architect products 2 versions ago. You can group select cabinets -- all uppers in a kitchen, for example and change all at once. You can restrict a marquee selection to only uppers by first selection the upper cabinet tool, hold Shift and marquee select. Base cabinets work the same. Full height cabinets need to be selected individually because using the above Shift selection method, first selecting the full height tool restricts the selection to all cabinets, not just the full height.

Try a forum search for black.

Any time you do something manually to something that is being auto rebuilt, the program will ask if you want to turn of auto rebuild. It's up to you to make the decision to say yes or no. The default template has all the auto rebuild things like roofs and foundations set to auto rebuild.

Just looking at your image, it's unclear what's happened. An elevation from the front and side will help. Is your foundation on level 0 and the house on level 1?

Search the forum and my YouTube channel for wall dormer.

Why are you intent on showing insulation between the studs? No one, not permitting officials, not an insulation contractor, not a builder needs this. If you feel a need to show an example, create a wall detail showing several feet of wall.

It sounds like the terrain is not preventing you from doing anything, it's just not in the correct place. You need to lower the terrain where the new building will sit. I'm not much help on terrains as I only use very basic ones in my models. Suggest you attach the plan file (close Pro first) and maybe someone will take a look.

What is stopping you?

I don't know any way to control that dimension directly. I can think of a work around, but it's not perfect. Suggest you do as you proposed.
