I changed the default to 6" and the walls immediately changed.

I'm not seeing that problem. You will need to post your plan file.

Help w/ Adding trim/crosshead above windows in home designer pro 2019? polyline?
solver replied to lknbigfish's topic in Q&A
Usually best to start a new Topic with a question. Simply place your chosen object (soffit, slab etc) and shape it as required. Custom Countertops and Soffits may have moldings attached, but only horizontally. -

@IngeJones It's usually best to start a new thread even when your question is similar. It also helps to post an image or drawing showing what you want to do. Have you tried reshaping a slab to fit? Place a slab, grab one of the side or corner handles and drag ...

Search Help for points, or maybe delete points.

You have multiple manual dimension tools to choose from, but you will find they don't snap to the framing. You can place CAD lines and points and points a dimension to them. CAD lines can be set to have arrows and to show their own length, and you can set their length, so they can double for a dimension. You can use a text box with or without an arrow to show dimensions.

Build the roof automatically, or read up on doing manual roofs.

Read about Framing Reference Markers. Try setting header sizes in Framing Defaults. Framing is not smart so it does not change based on your modifications. Is your overall goal to use the materials list? Does someone need to see accurate framing -- permitting/code enforcement?

Nothing is wrong. Try removing the exterior dimensions -- Edit>Delete Objects and see what happens.
-
There are no restrictions. Give it a try

If you are just designing the interior, then just draw the exterior walls. It's the interior dimensions that matter, and no need to think about a foundation.

I took a quick look at the roof and get different results -- I don't have Suite 2017 to view the plan with. I did notice several wall alignment problems shown here, and there may be more. You can see where the 1st and 2nd floor walls are not aligned, and these should be corrected. Select the incorrect wall and there is an Align With Wall Below (or above) tool in the Edit Toolbar that will align them. Sometimes these small things can change how the roof builds. It would be helpful to know how this area should look.

Mulling windows is not possible in Home Designer -- only in Chief Architect.

Did you see my comment just above?

Roofs build over rooms. Make the room (ceiling height) higher to raise the roof, lower to lower the roof. Once the roof is where you want it, turn off auto rebuild roofs and change the ceiling height. And thanks for posting the plan (I did not look at it) and the annotated image.

Posting the plan file is the best and quickest way to get help. Are there rooms on the 2nd floor? In your image above I see no stairs or windows.

Dimensions are tied to what they dimension and cannot be edited. You can cover the numbers with text or change what the dimension connects to, like placing a CAD line or point.

Home Designer Pro does. You did not mention which title you have. If you have an older version of SketchUp, you could model the features and import.

The curved part is a Custom Backsplash. Draw it against the face of the wall, make it the same thickness as the wall, then move it left or right. Use Transform/Replicate to move it forward the thickness you just set. Shape as required. That should bet you started.

Are there no walls on the attic level? You can just manually draw them.
-
Attic walls -- attic level. Do you have attic walls set to display? Do you have attic walls set to automatically build?
-
Posting images is almost always helpful. Are they missing in plan, camera, both?

Calculating Square footage in Chief Home Designer Architectural 2019
solver replied to dmcouch1975's topic in Q&A
Each level will show square feet. You will need to add up the square feet if you have multiple levels. No way to do automatically.
