  1. Select it and use the center tool. Select it and holding Control, drag it into place.
  2. A not very good video ... Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/5jAD-OvdiOo?hd=1
  3. Yes Just use manual roofs to draw the new gable.
  4. The Gable/Roof Line tool only works with auto roofs. With manual roofs you draw in your own roof planes. What specifically are you having trouble doing?
  5. There is a truss bonus library, but may not be available for 2016.
  6. See my responses in this thread, including the one about your signature.

    Add window handle

Like many symbols in the library (or imported from another source) handles may be manually placed. No automatic handle option for windows.
  8. Posting a picture of your wall will help with suggestions. The more expensive titles -- Architectural and Pro have Pony Walls where the upper and lower parts of a wall may be different types like your block on the bottom, frame on top wall. With Suite you need to fake the look, often using a thin soffit applied to the wall. You can then paint the soffit with a material -- concrete block, for example to give the look of a concrete block wall.

  10. I've not done it, but don't know why it would be a problem. It's just CAD, not taxing on the system. Why not call and talk to someone in sales?
  11. The good news is the walls are there. The plan is using Layout Set 33 for its layer set and should be using the Default set. The bad news is I don't know what to tell you to do to get them to show. Here is an idea if you are adventurous. Use Edit Area>Edit Area All floors to copy everything into a new plan. You may need to clean some things up, but that should get started. The image is looking at the plan in Chief Architect and I don't have an old enough version to fix the plan for you. You might contact Chief and ask.
  12. Images should be in .jpg or .png formats please. They show directly in the forum and don't require a special download and a separate program to view. Wall definitions are stored within the plan file. If you will attach one of the problem plans, I'll have a look.

    High Ceilings

  14. No experience with Essentials. I see you also have Suite 2020. All the Home Designer products work the same, so if you see how to do it in Suite, but not in Essentials, then Essentials does not have that feature. There may be other ways. Can you show exactly what you want to do?

You will need to show/explain how the actual walls are built. Something like a cross section. What's preventing you from doing this? Make a copy of the plan, delete everything except the structure. Zip the file if still too big.
  16. You should not have problems, but I cannot guarantee that. There is a checkbox in Chief that says Allow Editing In Select Home Designer Products. I checked it before saving. There are features in Chief not in Home Designer and you would not be able to edit those, but none were used in your file. I don't remember what I did other than deleting a bunch of things.
  17. Sun Angle respects the North Pointer.
  18. Chief has the ability to create and modify symbols. Note the Special Placement options. You can create something in another program like SketchUp, import into Chief, then convert to a native symbol setting these options.
  19. Home Designer lacks the ability to do these things. You are stuck with manual placement.
