    HRV

@DavidJPotter HRV = Heat Recovery Ventilator @Fredo649 Google 3D Warehouse
  2. I've not done it, but don't know why it would be a problem. It's just CAD, not taxing on the system. Why not call and talk to someone in sales?
  3. The good news is the walls are there. The plan is using Layout Set 33 for its layer set and should be using the Default set. The bad news is I don't know what to tell you to do to get them to show. Here is an idea if you are adventurous. Use Edit Area>Edit Area All floors to copy everything into a new plan. You may need to clean some things up, but that should get started. The image is looking at the plan in Chief Architect and I don't have an old enough version to fix the plan for you. You might contact Chief and ask.
  4. Images should be in .jpg or .png formats please. They show directly in the forum and don't require a special download and a separate program to view. Wall definitions are stored within the plan file. If you will attach one of the problem plans, I'll have a look.

  6. No experience with Essentials. I see you also have Suite 2020. All the Home Designer products work the same, so if you see how to do it in Suite, but not in Essentials, then Essentials does not have that feature. There may be other ways. Can you show exactly what you want to do?

    High Ceilings

You will need to show/explain how the actual walls are built. Something like a cross section. What's preventing you from doing this? Make a copy of the plan, delete everything except the structure. Zip the file if still too big.
  8. You should not have problems, but I cannot guarantee that. There is a checkbox in Chief that says Allow Editing In Select Home Designer Products. I checked it before saving. There are features in Chief not in Home Designer and you would not be able to edit those, but none were used in your file. I don't remember what I did other than deleting a bunch of things.
  9. Sun Angle respects the North Pointer.
  10. Chief has the ability to create and modify symbols. Note the Special Placement options. You can create something in another program like SketchUp, import into Chief, then convert to a native symbol setting these options.
  11. Home Designer lacks the ability to do these things. You are stuck with manual placement.
  12. Once you place the SU item, open it and set the height off floor. Save to the library. It should remember the height setting.
  13. What do you see here? Posting images showing your screen is helpful -- if using Windows 10, see the Snipping Tool.
  14. Are you referring to a Layout when you say "print project"? The typical workflow when printing a Layout is to print to PDF from Pro, then print the PDF. The print quality is chosen when printing. What makes you say this?
  15. It sounds like you have 2 related problems, one with the ceiling and one with the roof. Attaching the plan file (close the software first) will help others help you. I would focus first on the roof, so someone will need to know what it is supposed to look like. Is this a new design or an existing house?
  16. No. I suggested this long ago. Chief is little better. I have shown how to create your own custom template -- search Tips & Techniques if interested.
  17. No idea what your problems are, but I did quickly make a new hutch, and fixed the roof. Why 12' ceilings and why soffits around the perimeter? Default Ceiling 9 Window Downsizing 1700 sq ft 01-18-2020 (eric).zip
  18. 1st floor. Turn on the Auto Dormers layer.
  19. I've not looked at the plan, but I'm sure the dormers are there. Check all levels, including the Attic level.
  20. With Pro, you have manual roofs so you may draw them where you want. For automatic roofs -- roofs build over rooms, so you need to think of the balcony as a room (there is a Balcony room type), with a railing wall defining the outside edge. Because your columns span 2 floors, they need to be placed and sized manually. Your questions tell me you don't understand how the program works, so I'd suggest reviewing the links I provided above. The hour long getting started webinars on YouTube might be a good place to start. There is also a tutorial found under the Help menu that goes over the basics.
