  1. Roofs build over rooms. Make the room (ceiling height) higher to raise the roof, lower to lower the roof. Once the roof is where you want it, turn off auto rebuild roofs and change the ceiling height. And thanks for posting the plan (I did not look at it) and the annotated image.

    Attic Walls

Posting the plan file is the best and quickest way to get help. Are there rooms on the 2nd floor? In your image above I see no stairs or windows.

    Editing Dimensions

Dimensions are tied to what they dimension and cannot be edited. You can cover the numbers with text or change what the dimension connects to, like placing a CAD line or point.
  4. Home Designer Pro does. You did not mention which title you have. If you have an older version of SketchUp, you could model the features and import.
  5. The curved part is a Custom Backsplash. Draw it against the face of the wall, make it the same thickness as the wall, then move it left or right. Use Transform/Replicate to move it forward the thickness you just set. Shape as required. That should bet you started.

    Attic Walls

Are there no walls on the attic level? You can just manually draw them.

    Attic Walls

Attic walls -- attic level. Do you have attic walls set to display? Do you have attic walls set to automatically build?

    Attic Walls

Posting images is almost always helpful. Are they missing in plan, camera, both?
  9. Each level will show square feet. You will need to add up the square feet if you have multiple levels. No way to do automatically.
  10. Open the entryway room and remove the molding. Try a doorway across the opening where the drywall is missing. And I did not look at the plan.
  11. You can place them in elevation too. Probably need to move up against the wall in plan.
  12. You could: Select it and delete it. Select it and drag it far away. Cover it with a shape. Run a Plan Check to get it back if you delete it.
  13. 1) For your question, open Help and read about dimension defaults. 2) The Chief forum is: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/
  14. Did you see the image I included above showing your foundation? It clearly shows the different levels and how there is wood framing at that level. I might start with a blank plan as the software will often "remember" things that are best forgotten. Set your defaults, copy the walls then Paste/Hold Position into a new plan.
  15. Also, you can rent Pro for a month and fix all these issues.
  16. I often have problems with changing eave sizing for specific walls. The program seems to ignore the setting in many cases. Also, you don't want a 0 eave overhang. Build a simple 1 room plan and experiment to see what the minimum overhang is. Sometimes you need to trick the program into doing what you want. Again working with the 1 room plan, set the overhang to some normal value. Draw a wall inside close to one of the exterior walls and uncheck Roof Over This Room on the resulting small room. You might try similar logic to get the missing eaves. Create a small room where there should be an eave. Or use the wedge shapes from the library to make your own overhang. And remember, you can always post the plan here to the forum. There are some people who are good at making the software do things ...
  17. No. Just think the process through. You are just doubling the drawing size, not changing the scale. Printing at 1/2 size (the 1/8") is just a trick to get around the limits of the software.
  18. You may change your dimension defaults to locate the wall surface. Open Help, search auto interior dimensions.
  19. Open Help and search for dimensions. Read through the results to find your answer. There is also a Tutorial accessed via the Help menu which may be good to go through. See the YouTube channel linked above also. The hour long getting started webinars should help.
  20. Not knowing anything about the project, I'm going to suggest the foundation is a problem. You have all kinds of heights and materials mixed together. Start by fixing this, and strive to leave Auto Rebuild Foundation on. Also work towards having everything use default values. I know this may not always be possible, but it's a good general goal. And a friendly suggestion. Always start by getting the structure correct. Decoration -- windows, doors, furniture, colors etc are easily added in step 2.
  21. Close Pro. Click choose files. You can probably just drag the file in to the reply area too.
  22. Attach the problem plan and I'll have a look.
  23. Pro, but you may just not know what you are doing with the auto tools
  24. Suite does not do Cross Sections.
