Have your Client buy the Upgrade to 2016 , it's the only way I know of....and isn't that expaensive for a 1 yr jump . You can open their files but not the other way around as there is no backward capability , this is so even in Premier. I wouldn't do it myself, but if the Client is important you could call Sales about a Downgrade to 2015. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/home-designer-pro/

try a different version of the same file or a different Tub, though you don't explain what you imported (file type) or from where .

dumb question - every time I insert furniture in room, it disappears
Kbird1 replied to snuggarelli's topic in Q&A
a particular piece? or all furniture? in which case I'd say your Furniture layer is off. ......reading your post again I'd say you are checking layers for the ROOM not for Furniture , so don't select anything and open display options and scroll down to furniture, interior , it should have the red cross hopefully , check the DISP column and you should be good to go. otherwise post the plan , see my sig. for a how to if needed. -
ChiefSales way via the menu works too , I suspect I added the icon to my toolbar but I have Pro , not sure if HDI has that option ( toolbar configuration) Actually your comment makes me wonder if HDI has Vector views....... just checked hmmmm according to the Matrix it doesn't , it says Vector view excluded. Which means I guess you are in Standard View but the Option is the Same for textures , turning off textures can make the program a little faster if you are on a slower Computer , say an older laptop , then turn them on for the final view. I usually use Vector view for that if needed so don't usually toggle textures in Standard Camera views . do you have watercolour or techicnal or Glass views ? ie the Artsy views ? https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/product-chooser.html
-
It sounds like you have Toggled Textures off in a Vector view ? so you only get the flat colour. The Flat colour is what you see in All Vector views if textures are off, the texture toggle (as it is called) is actually turning off the PATTERN , you see in the Object's DBX. Standard view always shows the Full Texture (picture) on the Texture Tab. (bit confusing I know) The preview window shows what you see in each view ,standard or vector in this case as it is a Material , not an object (symbol). The view is switchable in the preview window too , play with the icons at the top of the preview window to experiment. M.

SSA is ONLY AVAILABLE TO CHIEF ARCHITECT , ( products such as Chief Premier) , not the Home Designer Series of Titles . SSA is $445 US per year btw. as seen on the Home Designer Website SSA is not an option or mentioned https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/home-designer-interiors/ you do have full access to the available Home designer Libraries here though http://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?YII_CSRF_TOKEN=5e8d0f62c2e54f7ec8eb8b08bd2d8c8141ed5b83&r=site%2Flibrary&search=&x=true&hid_cpca=0&hid_cpu=0&hid_ctm=0&hid_ctnm=0&hid_ctu=0&hid_order=&hid_norotator=false&hid_soft_family_1=0&hid_soft_family_2=1&hid_soft_1=0&hid_soft_2=0&hid_soft_3=0&hid_soft_4=0&hid_soft_5=0&hid_soft_6=1&hid_soft_7=0&hid_soft_8=0&hid_soft_9=0&hid_version_4=1&hid_version_3=0&hid_version_2=0&hid_version_1=0&soft_family_2=2&soft_6=6&version_4=on&x=0&y=0 check the top right hand corner to make sure you have home designer and interiors and your version selected , ( I tried to set it in the link above for you but it may not work) M.

The limitation is hardcoded but you print at 1/2 scale then increase PDF to 200% to actually Print , I do it this way to get 22"x34" full sheets as my Printer will do tabloid (11x17) and it prints to 4 sheets, and is pretty accurate , it even prints the marks to align the 4 pages, of course if I went to a Print shop , I'd do it full size. (not sure what the metric equivalents are.) ie 1/8" scale at 100% is 1/4" printed at 200% if you search on printing here you should find several posts/how to's on this.

haven't seen that myself , did you try another Lever handle to see if one is buggy or them all? either way worth reporting to CS so it gets fixed , as they likely wont see your report here. M.

could you post some pics or even the Plan perhaps ? I am not sure what you mean by a "showerwall" sorry. there is a link in my signature to a post on how to post pics and plans below if you need it , second line

Yep that method is the easiest , not sure you can get that exact truss built ..but you can get close with a truss and Ceiling Beam , and since trusses automatically delete rafters if in the same space, you can use that info to drop the ceiling planes on the slope and use a custom ceiling plane for the main ceiling plane 6-8 " below the truss. the plan is done in x7 but you should be able to open it and check things out , I saved the cross section camera for you to look at. Not quite sure I understand your comments ,about the extra buttons and features , that is basically why there are 5 versions of the software , you wouldn't buy Pro if Suite did the same job , so I am not sure why you seemed surprised about that , but it is frustrating , (been there done that) , and it is a love/hate relationship for sure but once you get to know the Software there are many workarounds etc you can employ. With the ability to Print to PDF , you can print pretty much any size you want/need , so I wouldn't let that hold you back. M.

glad I could help , just mentioned the ceiling heights because you want to set that up correctly before you Built your Roofs , build the Roof after setting the ceiling on the 2nd floor to your Kneewall height , and after the Roof has built correctly turn off auto roofs (build roof DBX) and reset the ceiling height on the 2nd storey to 88".
-
actually it's not in this case , the wall below has been dragged up into the roof line , you can see it here https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/1102-any-pros-on-tonight-that-might-help-with-a-project/#entry6272 and get the plan in the thread if wanted David. not sure why you started another thread Hammer ?

He sure does.... Forgot to mention in post above you need to reshape the roof over the existing porch so the walls of the bathroom above the porch will "grow back down to the roof after your set them back to "default top and bottom" and you have fix the walls again below too , ie the front door wall is poking up through the roof causing issues too but you'll need to do it manually as the floor ceilings there are all screwed up. ( cant use defaults for that one) the LH side wall of that bathroom has a hidden attic wall under it causing issues too, pull the wall back and delete the attic wall. you need to fix all your fllor heights etc 1st or you may end up doing 1/2 of this twice , going around and around in circles

you can delete your own posts Hammer , by the quote buttons on your own posts

not sure think 2016 came out March 26/27 ? ,not sure when you got 2015 https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/879-current-version-guarantee/

you have been PLAYING a lot in this plan with just about every setting available .....lots to do and a lot of work with Auto Roofs off. so to get you started : do all the rooms on level 1 have the same ceiling height and floor height ? they don't in the plan .. neither do the Rooms on the 2nd floor , the room you asked about is at levels all its own... If you want rooms in your Attic , you can't do it in HD Pro Attic level , it wont allow rooms to be made , you need to do that on a 3rd floor, but other issues 1st in the room in question you also need to set the walls to have Default top and bottom , you have tried altering them in a 3d view and they are now messed up likewise the front wall of the level one bathroom your bay window has a roof issue too You should of done the roof on Auto 1st I think , then done manual if/as needed , it will be more work to fix things now I think. not sure why you are using soffits for corner boards since you have the cornerboard tool. night

I thought it was you I told last month? to check as there is a 30 day latest edition guarantee ...ie if 2016 comes out in less than 30 days after you got 2015 you get 2016 for free instead of the $99 upgrade price. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/shop/guarantee.html PS nice Avatar ... my favourite Hammer.

post the plan after you close the plan in Pro ( or close Pro) I see more than one issue and diagnosing stuff from pics with a zillion checkboxes to look at is too time consuming. M
-
yes your pro 15 is there , you are just seeing my signature for Users to please do that if they haven't , I thought you upgraded in April though and qualified for the free upgrade to 2016?
-
see my PM and in my signature is a link on how to post Pics and your plan file M.
-
not sure what you mean since you haven't posted a question or your .plan file M.

Kat has hit the nail on the head with the advice above generally , though looking at your plan there will be the odd issue , like needing a Wall break on the long left side wall , but there is no need to use manual roof planes for this structure.... , you have also tried to put the roof planes for the 1st level (floor) on level 2. your main floor is only 88" high? 2nd floor is 0" ? the KB article on 1 1/2 storey homes may help too http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00358/52/Home-Designer/Roofs/Automatically-Building-a-One-and-a-Half-Story-Roof.html Here is the revised plan and some pics with instructions Test One_R1.plan

You can actually try it in the Trial version if you have it installed already, which I didn't think of this morning . (Can't save anything till you activate is all)

I suspect a 3D view issue with your videocard with the new version , so I suggest upgrading your Videocard Drivers as the 1st thing to try as the 3D works fine for me. BTW you don't have your foundation built yet....but that maybe deliberate ....I built it in my image below.... there is this KB article too http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00897/ PS your garage roof is over your upper storey windows
