You can draw walls counter-clockwise if you REALLY need to , if it's easier BUT you HAVE TO reverse the layers , so the exterior of the wall is to the outside of the building. *** Newer versions of HD may do this automatically ? It does sound like you Default interior and exterior walls are not set up in the Plan Defaults if you standard exterior wall is the Foundation Wall , it is Usually Siding 6. it would be a lot easier to help if Eric or I could look and your Plan, we can correct the issue and give it back. if you don't know how see the 2nd line in my Post Signature for a "How To" post but you posted a pic ,and it's done the same way.
-
just post the plan , if the Auto Roof isn't working , you must have something weird going on and we are unlikely to find it in a Picture. M.
-
you actually have the same setting over tboth he porch walls too , that is why that long LH wall is split into 3 parts when you select it ie all attributes are not the same ,and it is also set over the kitchen sink window wall too
-
yep that's what he meant makes it so much easier.. it is the Soffit you used for the fireplace hearth as soffits will take mouldings if they touch the room moulding so pulling it out of the wall a 1/4" or so fixes it. Looks like you have 3 different window Casings in that Room too not sure you need it but there is a KBA on doing insert fireplaces too http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00744/ *** looks like Eric and I posted at the same time and I had the same experience with Ctrl+Z

sound like you have toggled off textures same as in this post last week https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/1108-using-manufacturer-catalog-only-inserts-flooring-color-not-actual-flooring/ what kind of fireplace? cos normally the fireplace cuts the base out if positioned properly
-
@ Eric , perhaps you like it that way ? but it looks like you need to change your RidgeCap material in the Defaults>Materials to the same one there as your Roofing.
-
Perhaps I'm missing something? but you don't need to create anything , the program will do it automatically , especially if Autoroof is on in the Roof DBX, have you built the Roof yet? this literally took 2 minutes...
-
you could try turning off the clipping of the Terrain in the Terrain DBX at the bottom and see if it will let you manipulate it
-
if you click on the attic wall in a 3D ( or any ) view , if a wall is not aligned above or below, you will get an icon on the edit menu with a black arrow point up or down referring to which wall you want to align it too. I also last night after posting that part of the alignment problem is probably due to the left hand Master bedroom closet wall is misaligned by about 1/2" which you can see if you zoom right in though I 1st noticed it on the exterior as a line running up the wall. As a general rule your exterior walls should always select as one long wall, if of the same wall type, the left hand side of the house is 3 parts , the front and RH side are two parts which can lead to issues when specifying roof slopes , overhangs etc..

please fill in your forum profile signature so we know what HD title and year you have as they all have different features and capabilities, I am not sure you will get it 100% but it could be modelled in at least two directions if you have Ramps in your Stair menu,(two if drain is in the center or one direction if drain is at one end ). If I understand you correctly it is fairly easily done by changing the Floor Heights © in the Room Dialog Box (DBX) , of the 3 areas , all on Level One, these pics should help explain what I mean and thes KB articles are a good place to start too. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00140/ http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00932/0/Creating-a-Split-Level-Structure.html

the temp dimensions toggle button perhaps?
-
the front wall of your house has been split into two different walls next to window on left of Door and the left hand section doesn't have the Upper Pitch set per the other part of the wall as 3" and 6" upper. and the offending wall that is full gable is not aligned with the Attic wall above , this step alone may fix it but I found the other stuff above 1st. M edit : I just noticed it looks like you want rooms in the attic , HD won't allow rooms on the "Attic Level" so you will need to make a 2nd floor to use that roof space and checking the "ignore 2nd floor box in the Roof Build DBX. There are other ways to accomplish this too depending on whether you have knee walls up there or not.

Is auto Roof not working? usually it is fine with these. the plan would help M.

is this what you tried? you haven't just toggled them off under View Menu have you? check these KB articles too http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00467/65/Home-Designer/Toolbars/Troubleshooting-Missing-Toolbars.html http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00113/ http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-01147/45/Home-Designer/Messages-Errors/Message%3A-Cannot-open-custom-toolbar-configuration-file.html http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00114/65/Home-Designer/Toolbars/Managing-Toolbar-Locations.html

it looks like a Deck mount / insert / drop in bathtub to me there are some in the library but 1st you use a base cabinet , reconfigured to look like the deck you want in photo etc , eg countertop is slab ( Suite doesn't have slabs AFAIK just Soffits) and you change the doors etc to be blank and the correct material eg granite. this KB should help with the rest. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00886/ edit: here is the KB on how to do what I mentioned at the Top just a little more elegantly said http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01264/

there have been other posts on this like this one https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/231-screened-in-porch/?hl=porch

Post the plan so we can look at what you have done see 2nd link in my sig. if needed. you can also try this http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00886/147/Home-Designer/Rooms/Creating-a-Custom-Glass-Shower.html or http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00583/

These articles in the KB will help you get where you need , the 1st couple ,although it says Chief, work the same in HD and will give you a good understanding of how things work in HD Terrains , the HD KnowledgeBase (KB) also has several Tutorials on what you are trying to do, link below too. http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00574/150/Chief-Architect/Terrain/How-Chief-Architect-Interprets-Terrain-Lines.html http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00715/150/Chief-Architect/Terrain/Smoothing-Terrain-Contours-and-Controlling-it-Precisely.html http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00806/72/Home-Designer/Terrain/Using-Terrain-Features-and-Regions.html http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00718/72/Home-Designer/Terrain/Modeling-a-Sloping-Terrain-for-a-Walk-out-Basement.html http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00376/150/Chief-Architect/Terrain/Creating-a-Walk-out-Basement.html

Sorry I can't open your plans in Pro 10 so I have to Use CA Premier and I guess that's a new addition or Premier feature only? however in your 1st image doesn't the "Slab at top of stem wall" option work for you? ( it's unchecked) I hadn't noticed the Dims not working on the angled plan we did ....... and thanks for the explanation of Hardcore
-
You should be able to get settings out of your old Plan and reuse them if needed though on the plan I have your stemwalls are out of the ground see the pics , you can tell I used a different brick , so you could see the Ponywalls. those are massive Footings you have , peaty ground or something? I think you need the Hang 1st floor inside foundation setting in the Foundation DBX , not sure that is the best way but worked when I tried it in your plan. (Pics) I am curious why after your last Post the single level Service Block is not at 9.5° to the main buildings ? Also what are you calling hardcore? blacktop/asphalt?
-
That is a Premier (X7 currently) only Feature unfortunately as far as I know
-
Yes I think Kat has it , use Reference Floors
-
Foundation Followup you had unchecked the option to center the foundation on the Main Layer ....re check that box in Build Foundation DBX and rebuild , you also have Sill plates ON (bottom of Build foundation DBX) though I assume the brick is right on the foundation Wall, so uncheck that too before you rebuild the foundation. Also I assume being a garage etc that the floor is a thick Concrete Slab ? looks like you set a 200mm one in the foundation defaults but it should be done on your Level 1 Floor Default , is set for a Floor of 300mm I-Joists with 18mm OSB subfloor. after settings changed above Wood Floor floor 1 set to 200 mm concrete
-
For the Brick under the Render , you just need to make the Wall a Pony Wall with Brick as the bottom 400-500mm , see pics. I redefined the Ghosting Wall (z-fighting) so it was 90mm block and 10mm siding and set the material back to default (siding) as you had changed it to BeachWalk BricK and it seems to be better, you might want to make your wall layers as they are in real life, rather than 100mm thick siding or your interior walls that are 100mm thick Colour ( no material ie Plasterboard) , that way they should join up better too. Your walls are not on the foundation , see the pics , but I am still looking into that , got to go now.
