    Fence re-sizing.

Did you make a Architectural Block? you probably need to "explode the block" to resize it. Normally fences are just like Railings you set the Newel (post) Spacing to your desired measurement , however you may find that HD divides the distance up evenly rather than using 1500mmm panels and a short one at the end, which would be how it is usually done with premade panels, so your blocks may work better in that case. 2. Hi , In David's video it shows another way to make a new material to keep in your library for next time starting at about 4:15min in. which maybe easier to understand than my explanation above ,I can make a video of that too if you'd like. I realise now you only changed the material IN PLAN not in the Library , so the library material will be fine as you have seen. I just had a look at the White Corrugated Material Definition and now see the Pattern is set to Strip , which is why the angle is needs to be set to 90° for the Pattern but not the Texture (photo) , usually the Pattern and Texture angle must be the same so they both show the same in Standard or Vector Views. apologies for any confusion. M.
  3. Print Model does work , though I am not that conversant with it as I neither use it or STL printing , I usually send Jpegs or walkthrough movies to Clients , the other Option with Chief ( not sure if it works for HD Titles) is to have the Client download the Chief Viewer , so they cant look at your model directly. http://www.chiefarchitect.com/resources/viewerrequest.php only other time Print Model has come up was last Oct here https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/398-trouble-printing-a-model-with-hd-pro-2014/?hl=%2Bprint+%2Bmodel though there maybe Post on the legacy Forum too (if you have access?) Not sure if RoomPlanner can look at Chief/HD Files or just export them to Chief/HD Titles , it is Ipad/iphone only at the moment though (android coming) http://roomplanner.chiefarchitect.com/
  4. Ahhh forgot there is no "make CAD Block" in Pro (just make Arch. Block) and unfortunately you can't see CAD lines in the 3D views but you could still use them I guess in Elevations on your Layout pages to give the look. there are a number of other restrictions on Shaped Windows too , ie need to be fixed glass and have no sill according to this KB Article, no sure if you saw it. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-01024
  5. is your printer setup correctly ? and do you have the zoom in out buttons in your version? might be that..... or how your 3D window is setup before you "Print" M

    Chain link gates

not work how? I can place them etc but I am not using HDA pics might help... M.
  7. looks like your roofing iron was already at 90° so you had to switch it to 0° (same as 180) the only issue with what you have done is that you may have changed the definition of your LR Roofing to 0° in the library ( place on a roof to check) , which is why I suggested making a copy in the library of the material and renaming to a new material ( eg LRun Horizontal) , then rotating it and then applying the new material to the fence. This also allows you to use it in future plans. M.
  8. 1st time I have seen this question , the "white" is your background colour ( in preferences) , not sure how you "coloured your Rooms" though? as I'm not familiar with Essentials so not sure what options you have, I assume you want the purple and green in the doorways? You could possibly make a thin Soffit (cabinet menu) (width of wall X width of Door X 3//4" thick set at 0" above floor) and colour it to match each room and place it in the doorway to hide the background ..... same idea for the shower stall if needed

    Gable trouble

you can enter dimensions into the DBX's as metric ( eg 33m=1299 3/16" case sensitive so 33M doesn't work) and it will auto convert them to imp. or vica versa if needed, same as you can enter 3.5 for 3 1/2" etc. Nice use of (hidden) windows and the double wall coverup setting the ceiling to use soffit in the kitchen area cured the hole in the drywall where the window is it looks like...... Can HDA edit walls in 3D? pulling up the wall left of the opening looking into the eating room cured your missing fascia but not sure HDA has Wall Polylines to play with. M.
  10. In Pro you can do it with any wall in an elevation view (easiest) or 3D view and just drag it down ( or up) after you select the wall with the edit handles ,once you start moving it you can also enter an accurate dimension in the white dim box in an elevation view ( only) you must have sill plates on in your foundation defaults along with the foam , bolts maybe automatic so you may need to remove/uncheck those in the wall's Component DBX after selecting the walls Pro ,calculates sqft not Blocks so check all ML quantites against an online calculator such as this one: http://www.blocklayer.com/Block-CalculatorEng.aspx PS Pink is my selection colour
  11. you need to rotate the material using it's definition like this: make a copy of the Material to your User Library ,rename it appropriately, then open the material and on the texture tab set the Angle to 90° instead of 0° for Vector Views do the same thing on the Pattern Tab Note that for some reason this does not work well with all textures for some reason.

    Gable trouble

Thx for having a look Jo I was able to do what's in the OP but not what was in the posted plan (totally different condition) but Jem hasn't respond as to what the real conditions /measurements are yet. you could post the HDA10 plan , I'd like to see your method too Thx. Strange that HDA '15 is doing something different.
  14. skylights will only draw/place over a roof plane , so only thing I can think of is you are clicking on the wrong icon or don't have your roof built 1st. ( or a bug in 2016?) post your plan , as it doesn't happen here....
  15. not sure what title you have but I think they all have Soffits (cabinet menu), so you should be able to use the Soffit with brick material and the checkbox for Sloped Soffit. Use split view when working with sloped soffits it's far easier to figure out what the dimensions etc mean in the DBX.
  16. No wonder you have been so quiet since Sat , looks great , out done yourself again I 'd love to look at the plan for sure.... Here's another one that needs your talents with HDA ..... https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/1003-gable-trouble/#entry5833 M.
  17. found this article on "Custom Lites" today but not sure it is doable in HD Pro 2016, as I'm not sure it has the "load Muntins" button? http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00930/ M.
  18. "Use the Force Luke " ok the Knowledgebase really ..... check your wall alignment , that is the usually issue or start your own thread with your plan attached http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00206/

    Bar Scale

not sure if it's what you want/need but here are two CAD Blocks I have used in the past , you should be able to resize them as needed the normal way once placed in plan if needed. M. Scale Blocks_1.calibz

    Gable trouble

Its not really a limitation with Suite in this situation , even Pro or Chief Premier can't do it auto as you Saw in David's video , but in either it is easily fixed with the manual Roof tools , the technique in post 5 works for the original conditions (OP) but will not work for the plan you posted due to the length of the touching/abutting section , but there maybe a solution with invisible walls etc , this is something Forum User Jo_Ann is good at , so I'd recommend posting a plan and some pics of your floor plan with dimensions too , as She won't be able to open a 2016 plan as I can. M. Not sure you can open this as it's done in Pro 10 but it's the plan from post #5 , though I didn't have your real measurements which will make all the difference on what can/can't be done. Gable trouble

is there a reason your buildings are offset the opposite side in the posted plan vs what your pics show above? they also abut totally differently than your pic shows ie 1m section vs 3m section , I ask cos different situations may/will get different results and the posted plan isn't what you post in the OP. M.
  22. Don't remember what I saw now but that is great Keith I did actually like what you had drawn up too if I didn't mention it... M.
  23. Thanks Kat I didn't think the pic (excuse the feeble Mouse writing) or download link would stay "live" if I did that. M.

    2nd floor missing

check if the 2nd floor has somehow been designated "open below" eg if you used the Autostairwell Tool , I have seen this happen if room definition is lost. See My Sig. for a how to on posting pics and plans....

    Soffit color

it depends on screen resolution in older versions , but using the Snipping Tool in Accessories may give you better than the inbuilt jpeg exporter. see my Sig. for a how to if you need it on pics. M.
