That message generally means you have downloaded and (tried to) install a library that isn't compatible with your product even though it may install , ie you have downloaded the Chief X6/X7 Library or the HD Pro library for 2015 instead of the Suite 2015 libraries. I would just delete libraries showing that and download the Core Content libraries again and then any bonuses libraries you want off the Chief library page making sure to select/filter the type of library and your version etc at the top right hand side , try this link , I have tried to set the filters for you............. but double check them http://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?YII_CSRF_TOKEN=c696126a9d734ec758b95d33032f9777d68e991b&r=site%2Flibrary&search=&x=true&hid_cpca=0&hid_cpu=0&hid_ctm=0&hid_ctnm=0&hid_ctu=0&hid_order=&hid_norotator=false&hid_soft_family_1=0&hid_soft_family_2=1&hid_soft_1=0&hid_soft_2=0&hid_soft_3=0&hid_soft_4=0&hid_soft_5=0&hid_soft_6=0&hid_soft_7=1&hid_soft_8=0&hid_soft_9=0&hid_version_4=0&hid_version_3=1&hid_version_2=0&hid_version_1=0&soft_family_2=2&soft_7=7&version_3=on&x=0&y=0

yes attach the plan as this shouldn't be so much trouble.... and doesn't require manually doing it
-
hehehe... good catch Jo_Ann I did not think to check if Keith had turned off the Roof and ceilings in all rooms.... not sure why you would do that especially with the ignore 1st floor set too. I guess those SIP walls are ok as far as a Roof Build then ,even though they aren't aligned with the foundation correctly.... the short wall next to the front door should be set to full gable too is my guess ( the one with the desk against it. M.

usually you send to layout , then Print the layout once it is finalised. M.
-
the other option is mostly for sending images via email or posting to the web but I thought with 2016 Pro, you now had the HD Output for Jpgs too (like Chief does) ? check the manual perhaps.... Not sure why you would Print jpgs of your plans though as they would not be to Scale , so printing to scale via PDF will give you accurate drawings , the other advantage is that you can print to 1/8 scale to the 12x18 PDF and then have Kinkos or similar Print it at 200% to get 1/4" Scale drawings on 24x36 (Full size) if needed ( use any 1/2 scale and print at 200% for full scale). This works well ,I use it for doing 22x34 pages as my normal size is tabloid or 11x17 since my photo printer can handle those if needed. M.

Actually I'm thinking it is some how not handling those SIP Walls you devise, you had that weird situation with the windows too a week or two back , I'd say it's a good plan to send to Tech Support and see if they can give us some answers , as I am not sure why the roof wont build on the 1st floor now the "ignore 1st floor button" isn't checked, especially since there is an attic level. I opened the plan in chief too but it made no difference as far as the roof generating.
-
there is definitely some weirdness going on here and in playing I decided to delete the Roof and rebuild it and noticed you have "ignore Top(1st) floor for roof" checked , which would explain ,at least partially why the roof is in the basement ( not one of the usual reasons), but so far on rebuilding the roof with that unchecked the roof isn't building , at least the Display options dialog says no roof planes .baselines etc are being used , although there is an attic level ( with nothing on it.) will look more when I have time but am still thinking it is something to do with these funky Sip walls you are using there. I have to give it to you Keith , you sure can tie this software in knots
-
Sorry should of explained further I guess..... the wall definition setup that you have on level 1 means walls aren't aligned properly with the basement walls hence you get the roof over the basement, see here too: http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00206/52/Home-Designer/Roofs/Fixing-an-Issue-Where-a-Roof-is-Generating-Over-a-Foundation-Wall.html sorry I can't fix it an post back as we don't have the same version, but the main layers need to align properly , either fix the wall definition so they do or select the exterior walls and "align to wall below" but that will alter the size of the building since the walls will move out cos the wall definition is mis-aligned. M. EDIT: had a closer look ...the interior whipped cream 100mm block is set as your main layer ,and it should be the Texas cream 100 mm Block instead I think to get the main layers to align

fill in your profile signature , no idea what software or year you are using so you'll only get guesses. but make the walls concrete not framing and use the Corner board tool with bricks as the material perhaps?
-
An assertion error is a bad one to do the the software's Programming , Tech Support should see those errors , nobody here is going to be able to help.
-
possibly cos you have no walls ....you've been playing with those wall definitions again huh your main floor walls are defined as two colours and 20mm of insulation , not very supportive I'd think....perhaps some reading http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00716/9/Chief-Architect/Walls/Defining-a-New-Wall-Type.html
-
try making the single storey addition 6" narrower than the main house and the software should do it ok, it seems to have an issue with additions that are exactly the same width as the main building , as it then thinks the addition is the main house and tries to merge the rooflines. M.

might help...the KB is your Friend.... http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00206/52/Home-Designer/Roofs/Fixing-an-Issue-Where-a-Roof-is-Generating-Over-a-Foundation-Wall.html

The Framing wont show if you haven't BUILT it, and perhaps turned on the Rafter Framing in display Options...also Pro doesn't show Shingles like that , you get a straight line AFAIK 1/8" thick even if say Cedar Shingles are spec'd as the material ,someone maybe able to correct me on that, but the Notes on the section tell people what it is anyway. M.

you can also make a ROOM out of invisible walls , make the Room 9' high ,set walls for shed roof and give the roof a mono-slab floor/foundation. M.
-
The Roof on your bumpout is caused by the fact you still have the Wall's roof tab set at default ,which is for a Hip Roof , set the Front wall of the Bumpout to FULL GABLE and you will get what you want. M.
-
Make a copy of your existing exterior wall and rename it as desire (eg Siding 6_Addition) and change the fill type and/or colour
-
I would suggest downloading the Reference manual PDF ( on the help menu and saving it to your Desktop , and have it open while you work in Pro so you can quickly and easily reference topics such as Dimensions. but checking the box "ignore interior walls" will fix your issue M.
-
If the display options doesn't work for Dormers you can move the Roof Plane up to the next level , or down before sending to Layout/Print.
-
Pictures say a 1000 words.... see the 2nd link in my signature if you don't know how to attach pics
-
I agree Pics would help if you don't know how see the 2nd link in my Signature below.... M.
-
you could probably draw a stair with Cad Lines over the existing stair, and turn on/off the CAD layer and stairs layer as needed .....haven't tried it though , in the past I have either gone with the "pull back" method you mentioned when sending to layout or the 50% transparency route. M.
-
if the roof is already built , add an interior wall where you need it, open the Wall's DBX and check the box "Knee Wall" M.
-
you need to uncheck the Disp(lay) column for Auto Dormers not the RED Cross , you may need to turn off roof holes and a few other things to make it look right too though. M.
