  1. the program is trying to cover the exposed edge of the wall layer is my guess so it maybe differcult , there must be something there even ITRW , so what do you want there? Post the plan , cos without your exact setup , we are only guessing and can't try stuff. M.
  2. it would be slow opening that many cameras at once I think but you could probably group select them , if your version has that capability? ( you didn't fill in your Profile Signature) and then Open them as one. Haven't tried it as I don't have a plan with all those cameras..... post yours if you want someone to try stuff for you. M.
  3. Curious why are you using ceiling planes ? it will do this all auto , perhaps something I am missing ? edit: Ok I think it is the flat ceiling over the bedroom now I look inside......
  4. did you see this KB Tutorial? http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00812/181/Home-Designer/Printing/Printing-a-View-to-Span-Multiple-Pages.html
  5. You can use metric measurements etc and there are several other UK / Euro users here on the Forum , you cannot change the terms for things and there is no currency in HD that needs to be changed , as it does not calculate costs , it does a simple materials list which you can take and then apply costs to yourself via Excel or other means only. I would suggest getting the Free Trial and just take it for a Run and see for yourself , there is also a 30 day Money Back Guarantee if you buy and it doesn't suit your needs. M.
  6. The handrails heights were set up differently on the 3 staircases but I don't know your English code , here Landings (guardrails) are 42" and Staircases 36" , so I just set 800 and 900mm (no conversion) to see what worked. The other option that sometimes screws things up if you have the newel (post) and balusters the same size (50mm) is the Newel at 1st tread setting. No sure you actually have two foundations perse but two levels , and the floor is now at -318mm, not 0mm , a few weeks ago we sorted out the slab flush to stemwall issue and I thought you were set. open the plan higher up in the thread and apply the fixes I mentioned and it all looks good, I'm not sure this latest plan is worth rescuing (sorry),unless you made a lot of other changes you don't want to lose ..., I would abandon this latest one.
  7. try the opposite since your window needs a frame not just a sash ie try setting the frame/jamb to your desired size 6" ? ...ie uncheck "fit to wall" and see if remaining wall edge gets covered. M.
  8. The Frame or Jamb I think ...not sure your Ext. casing is set right either it looks like it is an 1" inside the Frame post the plan with the window labelled if you can't get it so someone can look.
  9. NO not your title your software Version and Title , one step closer you have 2016 and I think Home Designer Pro from your comments. All Titles have a year and there are 5 Titles per year so it is important to know the Year (version) and Titles to get good answers as they all have different capabilities . What you are seeing is My Signature as I have to ask a lot of Users to add this info to their Forum Profile Signature via their User Name at the Top right You have to add the dimensions with the Dimension tools yourself , there are no Auto dimensions for elevations in HD Products. You can also use Callouts and Text in elevations to Label Objects
  10. did you look at the KB article I posted yesterday for you? http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00116/181/Home-Designer/Printing/Printing-a-Plan-at-a-Specific-Scale.html you don't say what software you have but if you have "send to layout" I assume HD Pro ? so that means you have Elevation Views on the Orthographic View menu , where you can take a full elevation of each side of the house and then add your dimensions as needed. (check manual to see how elevation camera works if needed) You can then send to layout at whatever scale works with the Page size you have setup for the Layout sheet. (18x24 max in Pro) which will depend on the size of the house , if it doesn't fit just delete and send again at a smaller size , ie if 1/4" is too big send again at 1/8" Once the Layout is ready you can then Print it at true scale either to your Printer or to PDF.
  11. if you have more issues , post the plan file so someone can look at it for you, though I think David is right. Post the plan anyway , newer versions tell you if you have broken walls with a highlighted cursor , which will save you looking at every connection in the plan , as I or someone else can locate it quickly more than likely. .
  12. Ouch ... I think you went backwards... Are you still on 2014 Keith ? or did you upgrade ? no point me posting a Plan if you haven't you can't open it. you now have two Foundation Floors ? which is what you are seeing in the alcove , you floor © is - 318mm and not on default for some reason so you have this it takes some fiddling and I ended up breaking the staircase back into 3 parts , set each one as it needed to be , with rails on walls , transitions etc etc set right, then joined it back together and it works . Once they all link you can't alter the settings for the left and right stairs independently, which need to be opposite each other, which is why you were only getting the smooth transition on the left side. The right side had the balusters at 30mm too while the rest was 50mm and the railing heights on stairs vs landing height were different too on the 3 sections , landing is always higher ...not = to the stairs. my settings
  13. Sorry should of said DBX = Dialog Box here on the forum since you are new...
  14. You hadn't set the Roof Pitch in the front Railing wall of each Deck to something low like 2-3° either and each end railing wall needs to be set to Full Gable to get a shed Roof in the Wall's DBX Roof Tab too. I see you have stairs going up so I built the 2nd floor , for two reasons so you will get a proper stairwell and so that you can make Rooms on the @nd level even if it is only an Attic Space as HD software doesn't allow you to do anything on it's own Attic level , so you have to make a 2nd Floor and then make the ceiling height 0" if needed so you get a Floor up there and can make Rooms etc. as you can see in the pic I left the 2nd floor at 8' as I don't know your real height. Though it is likely you will need some height otherwise the Roofs will meld together , in which case it could be done with a Gull Wing roof too I think in this situation. M.
  15. you likely need to turn on the Roof ,and perhaps the ceiling in the Deck and Porch Room DBX , and the Railings will need to be set with Post to ceiling or Post to Beam on their Wall DBXs. I'll take a quick look and post back if something else is going on. M.
  16. Now you are cheating ...he said NOTHING from the Library I wish you'd upgrade and post plans , always interested by what you get upto with those workarounds
  17. I am using X7 so I can open Keith's Plans, AFAIK he has 2014 (x5) and Pro 10 can't open them. but I suspect I see different things in the DBX's, but will try using X6 (2015) next time as I think the DBX's are more alike. The Floors/Rooms were acting weird especially in Dolhouse view as Keith mentioned , but once I set the Foundation back to Concrete from 300mm thick tile (can't remember if I did a rebuild of foundation or not now too) , it was then only a matter of setting the flooring to some measurement in each room's DBX as they were all zero mm which maybe cos I reset the foundation? but not sure as I think Keith had been trying any and all things to make it work .
  18. post the plan as I wasn't ever really sure what the issue was really from your description above. I use Ponywalls in bathrooms sometimes for glass walls as you know , but I wasn't sure what you were doing here... If a Workaround is needed then Jo_Ann or Kat , will probably know one , since they both have "fought" HDA for years... M.
  19. you could just use a pool from the library to make it look like your original pic had water in it too , if you don't want to goto the trouble of making a Custom Countertop etc.
  20. Kat is correct there are a lot of "workarounds" possible with lessor titles Eric is also correct in regards to your original question too though.... if you already have a plan , post it and I am sure people will try to help... M.

it does work I just tried it to be sure , did you open OBJECT ( not view) using instructions above
  22. In HD staircases style is Defaulted to the Template style you started with but all materials can be changed afterwards if needed. it looks like you haven't changed the Rail material to Oak on the lower staircase , and my guess is you have transitions checked on the left side too which is controlling the LH staircase Rail too , (look close and you can see the two rail styles where they join are different ). looks good here
  23. apologies for not being able to read your mind.... maybe these then?............ http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-01170/ http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00552/ http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00309/ or use a CAD Polyline and open it's DBX.
  24. Try a window pass thru and use a cabinet soffit to put a back inside it , you can turn off the casing etc if needed, this works for shower niches too. M. Edit : found an old Niche practice plan you should be able to open and have a look. Wall Niches Basic House.plan
  25. The newer versions Have "Reminder Icons" that follow the cursor to remind you an option that isn't usually on by default is currently on and you may want to turn it off before editing further. I am not familiar with the icon you describe however, Pic might help) but this post from yesterday will show you where the behaviour can be turned off https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/1167-how-do-i-get-rid-of-this/
