you have less options in Suite but it sounds like something else is controlling the overhang for some reason , but overhangs should never be 0" as that will cause the fascia to pull into the wall through the siding into the sheathing, try 1 1/2 " then the siding will be behind/not touching the Fascia. Posting the plan is the quickest way to get good answers.

I think this should work in HDA , you'll have to try as I don't use HDA , but in the Pic I used a Fence Panel (tongue and groove here) altered to the right height and slide under the deck edge. you may need to turn off deck beams and posts in the 3D view so they don't show through the skirting as I did too... there is lattice in this library that will work too and doesn't need the "fence" each panel is separate and just placed in the right location. http://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/780

really nice Jo , it always amazes me what you can do with HDA.... I used to use the "raise the cabinet" up trick to get Backsplashes behind free standing ranges not sure if it is needed in newer versions Warrenwest just posted on another thread that 2016 versions now allow Soffit moulding to be turned off in the DBX too. can you post the plan ,saves having to redraw ,just to test for you....thanks... are you using HD PRO 2016 or X7? ( your sig. is confusing the issue) though as far as roofs go most functions are available in both.
-
Yep I see those as well though I'm guessing you still have a bunch of work to finish these plans.
-
True but you have to work with what you have available.... I was thinking in addition to your method rather than instead actually , as I wasn't sure why you suggested the rect. soffit for the straight part , and assumed that trick doesn't work on normal cabinets? M.
-
Thx WW did not know that had changed...
-
Good to see you found HT GP if Jo's advice doesn't work for some reason (it should) and you need more help post the plan file , after closing the file in HD and please fill in you Profile signature so we know which software you have, thx. M.

Bob , I think you caps lock key is on ? not sure what the issue is though ? you don't want gable roofs? , then change the Wall>Roof directives on the Dormers , same as any other wall to built hip or Shed. might be time to check the manual or the KnowledgeBase here http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/database.html specifically : http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00359/52/Home-Designer/Roofs/Automatically-Building-the-Basic-Roof-Styles.html

Your walls on the house are in alignment visually but the Program doesn't think they are , and in newer versions you now get a warning message about that error , the misalignment is proven by the fact you have to drag the basement walls into alignment with the main floor , otherwise they would be perfect when you autobuilt the foundation. But it matters not really , it just means your wall main layer assignments are messed up and with your fancy SIP walls your way is likely easier Yes Downunder I saw a lot of Fire walls so knew what you meant , here it is pretty uncommon as you usually are not allowed to build on the property line in residential work. I'd think you'd want a finished Ceiling in your front entry/porch ? in which case use the Roof Plane Tool.

Don't bother with your stairs until you sort out your slab and floor heights as you will then need to redo stairs if you don't. I think you might be going about this the wrong way , as I assume 192" is 2x 96" ceilings? check out the KB article I linked below on split levels. HD doesn't actually build Monoslabs , it builds a stemwall the same height as the slab thickness to give the impression of a Slab. -Your foundation has 4" thick tile specified as the slab (garage and family is one room) , change it back to concrete , and use floor finishes on level 1 to do the tile . -Should the garage not be 6" below the House main slab ? ( usual here) it is currently 0" and the Family room area is -12 5/8 ? you also have 12" stemwalls spec'd in the garage in the foundation defaults. -Don't spec rooms on the foundation level 0 unless there is a Room there , "Rooms" have default settings which can effect things , eg garage on main floor and garage in foundation. for stairs on the same level in a Spilt level or from decks to terrain etc you use the Click Stairs rather than the normal stair tool usually, like normal stairs , hold the ALT Key to draw down stairs http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00848/71/Home-Designer/Stairs/Using-the-Click-Stairs-Tool.html The KB articles on Split Levels should help http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00932/147/Home-Designer/Rooms/Creating-a-Split-Level-Structure.html http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00269/71/Home-Designer/Stairs/Creating-a-Split-Level-Entry.html

I guess you could assign invisible materials to the extra wall cabinets too, couldn't you Jo-Ann? and get the countertop to build without seeing the cabinets.
-
I think in Suite you only have Shapes and Soffits to play with , I think in HDA there is the Custom countertop Tool , like Pro which I have , but you maybe able to do it with a 1 1/2 thick cylinder and some rectangles merged together with the CTRL Key. M.

none of the rooms in your plan have rooms heights of 192" absolute......when I reset them to that the ridgeline became one , so I am not sure what I did different. M.
-
for other readers.... it's doesn't show up unless you turn on Corner cabinets but the second box on the Right side controls the in and out , it usually defaults to 0" = straight. from the manual For corner cabinets, the Width and Depth fields become Right Side Width and Left Side Width. If a corner cabinet is assigned a diagonal door on the Front tab, the second Right Side Width field specifies the bow depth: a positive number creates a bow and a negative number, an inside bow.

had a quick look , little manual roof wasn't an issue works nicely at 5deg actually and your fire wall was still not setback to default height , do that , then Pro will generate an automatic attic wall which you can drag up ( and along) in a 3D view to your needed height and width, and you can drag the lower wall out too and you still have a broken wall as noted above .... and the carport ramps are a bit higher than carport slab. M.
-
you likely didn't autobuild the Roof after putting the Soffit on , just use a small manual roof plane at 1° or 2° , it is after all a Roof and Roofs ALWAYS control Walls M.
-
yes..... you must have unchecked the diagonal door option on the front tab at some point ,check that and choose Corner on the General tab if it isn't already done.

there is a large and small circular staircase (library search) in the library under >ARCH.>Staircases>Spiral
-
I am not sure you can in HD Software , except with Sloped soffits , as you cannot manipulate/rotate objects in elevation. would need to provide more info and perhaps the plan , you may have no choice but sloped soffits if you want to angle it and allpy a molding to the edge so it looks like a traditional handrail , but then again the Railing tool can do that... M.
-
you can use earlier version libraries too
-
why not use the Railing Tool and change things there , instead of making your own? I can't tell from pic what you are trying to do sorry try a Slab , not a soffit if you are using soffits , soffits will take room moldings if they touch room moldings I think.

Auto Roof builds ALL roofs in the Plan , Unless you check the box to retain Manually edited Roofs in the Build Roof DBX (auto Roofs must be Off , but build roof still works) being able to do it by floor would be great. how did you make the porch roof ? those look like auto attic walls ,but can't be sure since you didn't post the new plan.

Not that I am aware of , the only Window Manufacturer , I have ever seen with a HD library was Marvin , though , not in current titles , you could use it if they still offer it. can you not use the Default Window tool and change the options to get it close to a 400 series window? I am not familiar with Andersen ,they are US only.
