Common question. You have already "Build Floor" for the second floor. Just draw in the new walls. Make sure none are set as No Room Definition.

The program has a Ceiling Plane tool. It enables you to draw in your own ceiling planes. Open HELP, search for "ceiling plane".

Your question would be best answered by sales directly -- there is a Sales Related Questions section that is monitored by Chief Architect. You could also download the trial version and see what it will do. Pro will do this easily, but all versions are setup for normal american style construction and issues frequently arise when deviating from this.

Why have you drawn a soffit over this room? Do an Auto Rebuild of your roof, delete the soffit, then look inside.

Why is there a soffit over what I guess is the living area? You may need to draw in your own ceiling planes.

Good idea Jerry. You can edit framing in Pro, and I always forget about doing it, so it does not get suggested. Transform Replicate would work for making multiple copies.

Using the Adjust Material Definition tool, I was able to change the color of all the siding, including that on the dormer.

I thought about this a bit more and wanted to suggest an alternate approach. Define a new with 2 main layers of 2-3/4" studs giving a 5-1/2" width for the framing part of the wall. These will be staggered by default, I believe. This will give you an accurate materials count -- you will know the studs should really be 3-1/2" in the materials list, and will give you a visual that is is representative if you display framing.

I noticed the odd baselines too, but redrawing the roof still leaves a gap where the roof plane is extended.

I believe you are correct. I tried this in Chief and it fails in a different way. The box fills in correctly, but then the other side is incorrect.

I'm confused about what you are trying to do. Your plan shows 2 structures, one has a roof over the alcove, one does not. Is this what you want? Does Pro 10 have manual roofs?

I cheated. I think this will not be easy in Suite. Try deleting the dormer, removing the walls for the staircase, extend the knee wall all the way across, then place the dormer. Now draw in the walls for the stair.

Try this. On the second floor, drag the two outside gable walls out several feet. Now expand the dormer to its correct size, then move the gable walls back into place. Turn on Reference Display (F9) and use the Align With Wall Below tool in the Edit Toolbar when you get close.

How wide does the shed dormer need to be?

Open a layout, send something to it, close it. Repeat as needed.
