  1. You can shape a slab in many ways.

Have you tried? Chief has a free viewer available too.
  3. Why do you want to bury part of it? If you create a room -- one wall is the fence, the other 3 are room dividers, you can lower the floor which will do what you want.
  4. The simple/easy way is to use solids for the arch area -- the 2 angles and the header above. See the Wedge shapes in the library, and use a soffit for the header. Thanks for post the images and for filling out your signature.
  5. There is no need to place images in a PDF. You may post them directly. One click and they are visible full size, no separate download needed. Not sure where the arch is supposed to be.

You have found the wrong forum. Visit Chieftalk for Chief Architect support.
  7. Too easy! @paulmeinhart -- just change the room type to something other than Deck, and the walls to whatever wall type you want.
  8. I don't see a way of setting this dimension so it will auto build the blocking at a specific size. You can, however, edit the blocking in a 3D framing view. Just select the blocking and open it, or just double click it and its specification dialog will open. Change the thickness to what you need. You can use the Object Eyedropper to copy the change to all the other blocking without having to open each one and make the change. I forget, Pro has the Object Eyedropper, but not the additional tool that lets you select which properties to copy. Looks like this may be a manual process. I'm going to report this as a suggestion to allow the change in the Framing dialog.
  9. I'd call that a Victorian style, and they can be found all over the US.
  10. Post a plan just like you posted the picture. Make sure it's not open in Pro.
  11. Are you asking about blocking in the wall? Could you post a simple sample plan?
  12. Common question. You have already "Build Floor" for the second floor. Just draw in the new walls. Make sure none are set as No Room Definition.
  13. The program has a Ceiling Plane tool. It enables you to draw in your own ceiling planes. Open HELP, search for "ceiling plane".
  14. Your question would be best answered by sales directly -- there is a Sales Related Questions section that is monitored by Chief Architect. You could also download the trial version and see what it will do. Pro will do this easily, but all versions are setup for normal american style construction and issues frequently arise when deviating from this.
  15. Why have you drawn a soffit over this room? Do an Auto Rebuild of your roof, delete the soffit, then look inside.
  16. Why is there a soffit over what I guess is the living area? You may need to draw in your own ceiling planes.
  17. You can post images directly to the forum. No need to put them in a gallery first. They are showing a permission error.
  18. Don't have all your details -- how the inside will look, but here is a plan that might give you some ideas. I used a slab in the bay, but if you have it, a custom countertop would also work. Darren Bay Demo.plan
  19. Good idea Jerry. You can edit framing in Pro, and I always forget about doing it, so it does not get suggested. Transform Replicate would work for making multiple copies.
  20. Using the Adjust Material Definition tool, I was able to change the color of all the siding, including that on the dormer.
  21. I thought about this a bit more and wanted to suggest an alternate approach. Define a new with 2 main layers of 2-3/4" studs giving a 5-1/2" width for the framing part of the wall. These will be staggered by default, I believe. This will give you an accurate materials count -- you will know the studs should really be 3-1/2" in the materials list, and will give you a visual that is is representative if you display framing.
  22. It's good to see you found your way to the correct forum. You had a good answer over at ChiefTalk, but I guess Pro doesn't have the tools to do it. Please post a picture or two -- not a link to a picture, of what you are wanting to do. -------------- Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube
  23. I don't think you can. I posted the question on ChiefTalk and the response was no way to do it.
