Have you given it a try? It looks like a house to me.
-
Have you searched the forum? I remember discussing this sometime in the last year or two.
-
Noticed you posted over on ChiefTalk too. With X8, that is where this needs to be discussed.
-
It does, did you look?
-
@TGIVaughn If you are using Chief X5, you should be in the Chief Forum.

No. It only works the other way -- more expensive titles can read plans drawn in less expensive titles. But -- see David's post below. I forgot about this feature in Pro.

You will need Pro for fully manual roof tools. I believe Suite and Architectural have the same tools for roofs.

You can use soffits, slabs, or the solid cube from the library. Place the fence, then with another solid shape to model the columns, place them as needed. If they are every 10', for example, place a column in the corner and use transform/replicate to copy it. There are CMU in the library. It's been hot up here in Heber/Overgaard, would hate to be in the valley.

Posting a picture would help. How about using steps and a landing?

What would you want from a plumbing diagram? What if you designed it wrong? There are many variables that affect how plumbing gets installed, and you would need to account for them in the plan. And finally, would you expect a plumber to follow your plan???
-
Have you updated your graphics driver? What was wrong with Windows 10? From most reports, it's not perfect, but the best OS from Microsoft in a long time.

You can drag the top and bottom of a wall up or down as needed, so you could fill in the gap either way. In any case, this would be a good question for tech support.
-
Sometimes, you need to take an elevation view, select a wall and drag its edge into position. FixedFoundation2-2ndFloorTest (eric).plan

You may, I believe, install it on an unlimited number of computers, but only one instance may be active. You can Activate/Deactivate via the website, or via the program. Your best answer will come directly from support at Chief. Also, do you have Home Designer, or Chief Architect?
-
I see you have Premier. You are on the Home Designer forum. You want ChiefTalk.

Your plan has some problems that I could not fix. Copied the first floor to a new plan, built a new second floor. Take a look at this plan. I did not use the Open Below, just reduced the 2nd floor, floor structure and raised the 1st floor ceiling to 126" Shawn Porch (eric).plan
-
Don't mess with the floor. Think of it this way. The first floor area of the porch has no ceiling, and the second floor of the room above has no floor (you set it to Open Below). Just set the ceiling height of the 2nd floor room where it needs to be -- like 20", or what ever you need to add to the first floor to get the required height. The reason you added the 2nd floor is so you could make adjustments without changing the first floor.
-
That second floor room over the porch needs to be Open Below, and the porch should have Ceiling Over This Room unchecked. You are essentially using the second floor ceiling as the ceiling for the porch. Go to second floor and click on one of the walls. In the Edit Toolbar, there is a tool that will align the wall with the one below. Just mouse over them to find it.

That roof will be difficult, if not impossible to model in Suite using the standard roof tools. Home Designer Pro would be easy. See if you can open and work with this file. Smoketree plan-CURRENT-5-30-NEW MSTR BATH (eric).zip

That is a vector view, and it's not available in Suite.
-
I don't think Pro is capable of this.
-
How did you add the materials?
-
There is no Remove Wall Break tool. They normally go away when the wall on both sides of the break is the same. You can always drag one wall over the break to merge the walls either side of the break, but the walls must be the same.

This is probably the best first post I've seen. Good description of the problem and what you are thinking as a solution. Attached appropriate pictures, the plan, and even filled out your sig. Good job! I'd build the patio just as you said. For the front, do the same, but add a second floor above creating the part that extends above the roof.

No need to use the control key unless you want to override snaps. Doing so is usually not a good idea as you will locate items imprecisely. The dimensions displayed are rounded. Click a dimension to see the actual. It will often end in something like .1296756 instead of .125.
