  1. Try setting the floor structure for the Open Below room to have a 0" thickness.
  2. You can adjust the floor height in the Room Specification dialog. Enter a negative number to lower the floor.

    Floor Framing

Is there a gap where they should be, or do the studs go all the way down? In the Build Framing dialog, they are specified?

    Wall Openings

You need the RO size from the manufacturer, if they are true mulled units. I'd use a single window instead of three to produce a framing plan.
  7. Tell your contractor to learn to use industry standard notation, or to give you the cash to upgrade to Premier. You can also use your own label, changing each window and door manually.
  8. It's easier for us if you will attach images and enter your questions directly in the forum. It also enables the search feature -- no text, nothing for others to search.
  9. Have you tried drawing in your own wall?
  10. I just tried that command for the first time, and it seems rather limited, almost useless. Why not send your question to tech support and see what they say. If you do, please report back here.
  11. It helps if we know what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2014, 2015 etc) you are using. Home Designer can only edit files created in the same or older versions.
  12. Not sure what you want to do. What are you trying to accomplish?
  13. Try the Backup Entire Plan command. It will capture the materials you have used. Don't know about the wall issue.

    3D Library Virus

The libraries are just database files. Can't imagine how they could harm your computer.

    3d Views problem?

Not really "normal" but it does happen. It depends on the camera you are using and how it's being used.
  16. The problem is caused by the part of the 2nd floor that extends over the porch. Stupid, I know. Draw an invisible wall (room divider) on the 2nd floor creating 2 new rooms. One where the cabinets are, the other just to the left. Increase the thickness of the floor structure in these spaces by the amount you need to lower the ceiling below. This will automatically raise the ceiling height in these two new rooms, so you will need to subtract the same amount from the ceiling height. Go to the first floor and lower the ceiling of the porch. You will need to rebuild the roof to see the changes there.
  17. You might send to tech support to see what they say.
  18. I've used a lintel, and casing that is larger than normal here. Just changed the materials to brick. You may not need the lintel, i wanted something to be proud of the casing. You should be able to do the same with whatever material you choose.
  19. You cannot do what you want, the way you are trying to do it. Give this thread a read.
  20. Roofs are controlled by the spaces below. Ceiling heights force the roof up or down. Once you have the roof as you want it, turn off Auto Rebuild Roofs, and change the ceiling heights back to where they should be. It looks like your model is not matching the print.
  21. A better place for you question is houzz.com. This forum is about software used to model a house.
  22. Is my picture showing what you want to do?
