    Deck Post Footings

Here is an idea. I've drawn a deck on the basement level. This gets rid of the footings. It only needs to be directly under the post, so not as big as I have shown. You could use a slab or soffit to extend the post, and draw in your own footing -- see the shapes in the library if you don't have the footing tool. Have you considered something like this? I did this quickly and would reverse the flights on each stair, I think.

    Deck Post Footings

Guessing Architectural does not have these options.
  3. Often posting an image of what you are seeing helps. What top plates are you missing?
  4. I've used a grid made from slabs, or soffits, or custom countertops. Draw one tile, and using Transform/Replicate, create your grid. Block together to make moving easy. I have done octagon and other shapes too.
  5. If you are asking about the framing I've colored in red, it appears to be an artifact. The program often builds attic walls as the model is being developed, but does not remove them when not needed. I frequently use Delete Current Floor at the attic level to clean these up. The attic walls that are needed will rebuild automatically.
  6. To answer your question, the software has no concept of locations or corners that may be exported.
  7. I don't understand what type of location you are looking for. It's common to transfer a plot plan into the software and position the house on it. As for field layout, dimensions from the plan. Your house is nearly rectangular so a quick layout on site should be easy.
  8. Thanks! Post back with questions.
  9. Draw the flat roof, setting the overhangs on each side. Make sure the pitch is correct. Draw a diagonal line from one corner to the other. Open the line and copy the angle. Open the Defaults, and under Plan, add this angle -- one negative and one positive value. Take one corner of the roof and form it into a triangle. Draw the tippy up roof starting along the edge of the flat roof and going towards the outside of the house. Use the handles to reshape it into a triangle, snapping the corners to the corners of the flat roof. Set the pitch. Join the two roof planes in the middle. Check in a 3D view.
  10. Close Pro. Then attach the plan file like you did the other attachments. Are you comfortable with the manual roof tools? This is a fairly simple roof to draw manually, and I'm not sure how to do it easily with the automatic roof builder.
  11. I don't understand how the elevations relate to the roof plan, but take a look at this plan and see what you think. rt 1.plan
  12. Do you have a Roof Plan from your designer you could post?
  13. The crown is located just below the ceiling. Check your ceiling height. It's at 113+ instead of the 80 something elsewhere.
  14. Post in Seeking Services on ChiefTalk. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/forum/15-seeking-services/
  15. Check the Archive directory. Substitute your info for mine. Start in My Documents, I believe. D:\Users\e\Documents\Chief Architect Premier X9 Data\Archives\
  16. You should be able to rebuild the framing, or Edit>Delete Objects

This has been discussed on ChiefTalk, and the recommendation is to install an older video driver. Are you using an Nvidia card? There is 382.05 that came out in May that is reported to be stable and not have this issue. More recent drivers may also work.
  21. I'd suggest to the HO that the house looks better without the gable ... I don't get the full return back or front. Returns don't work real well, and what you are seeing is not uncommon. I just draw them in manually.
  22. Post screen captures showing what's happening, or post the plan file (make sure it's not open in Suite).
  23. Draw the 3 walls, set the end walls to full gable. Build the roof.
  24. Posting images showing your issues will help. How did it change? No problem doing this.
