  1. It's either home designer 2025, or chief architect x16. Two different products. Anyway, from your settings for the floor, where default is not checked, there was something changed along the way.
  2. Now that HD 2026 is out, your decision may already be made for you. I'd suggest contacting support to see if you can even get access to an earlier version that isn't subscription based.
  3. The subfloor is already doing that. Look closer
  4. Sadly, not all of the catalogs are available. The ones that were pay for in HD Pro are now free, and a very select few in the Chief catalog library.
  5. Possibly, though it's likely that since it's a world-wide program, that is left open so users can decide how they want their ceilings to frame.
  6. I always use an 1-1/4" ceiling finish, as that puts the strapping right under the framing and includes the dimension of the strapping and drywall. For a garage ceiling, I change it to 1-3/8" for the fire code drywall
  7. Not possible in home designer without making multiple roof breaks and adjusting small area roof pitches. Would likely have to upgrade to chief architect
  8. In those cases, I keep the top rail just for the location, then make it very small. Then with either a shape or soffit, I will create the size I need and place it "around" the top tail that I shrunk
  9. Hard to call it advertising when it's free. It's a disappointment for certain.Yet the clearances needed are found on other websites to help with laying out a room
  10. Unfortunately, the CAD blocks are not available, yet the misc items are.
  11. You don't have to agree with it. It was a thought, that's all. Contact Chief Architect and snap at them. They'll have the definitive answer for you.
  12. Some of it could be the manufacturers decision to only offer their product to Chief Architect users, and not Home Designer users.
  13. Open up the catalog, pick the style you want, then put your cursor over the railing and watch the icon change. Click, and it will change
  14. It may not be something that is done by a lot of people, so a solution isn't readily available without asking support. Maybe someone else will chime in that has a better solution for your particular desire or has done it before, If your "sad" comment is directed at me.
  15. Maybe because the version you have is 3-4 years old, and newer versions may have changed it. Can always email support and ask them for an explanation. Anything else is just guesswork.
  16. I think that's the best you'll get unless you dig into it deeper.
  17. Look at your top toolbar at the light bulb. Click that and select "toggle sunlight"
  18. You had posted it on Chieftalk, not Hometalk. There is a bonus catalog in the library under cabinets>cabinet doors No.1 double panel that may work. I don't see that it has the unequal panels size panels, yet it may get you close. Unless you can fudge with an interior door style that shows unequal panels and get that to fit?
  19. Please post questions in the "Q&A" section. Depending on which program version and year you have look at pony walls
  20. Do you have your dimensions set to dimension to the rough opening?
  21. If architectural doesn't have pony walls, then use an exterior wall covering. You can read about them in your reference manual
  22. You can contact support. It's been an issue for years. You might be able to sneak a full height soffit in there. Or try unchecking the no locate box
  23. Maybe try adding a stud using the "post" item in the general framing tab? Set it at the stud size and height and see if that works. As a post, it should also show up in your framing view, as long as "posts" are turned on to display
  24. If you can get the "room divider" wall type to just show up as a line, and not an an "invisible wall", it may help it. I put a base cabinet with a dishwasher in it in my user library, so I can access it easily.
  25. The molding may not be showing because of the invisible wall at the end of the short wall. It acts as a room divider, and will not show it. You can try changing the wall type to "room divider" and have it show with the single line. It's something that changed a few versions back and is a pain in that it shows as a wall and not a dividing line. Another thing to look at is you have "no room moldings-exterior" checked. Try unchecking that d see if it helps. For the dishwasher, that is to be "dropped" into a cabinet. If not, it's likely being pushed back by the cabinet. To save yourself some typing, fill out your signature on the "account settings" in your profile. That was your version and year will always be in your posts, and you don't have to bother typing it every time.
