  1. You will be better served by plying this question to Chief Archtiect Tech Support than here, I have been using and teaching Chief Architect and helping Home Designer users for twenty five years and I haven't a clue so as to help you. DJP

    Fix roof

No, it was factual, useful advice, where you wish to set pitches other than the default pitch set in the "Build Roof Dialog" you set those diverging pitches by way of the "Wall specification dialog - roof tab -roof pitch input box" to guide the auto-roof generator to a desired result. If you are not obtaining a desired result then one must find where they have erred in manually setting up for the auto-roof generator (Build Roof Dialog - Roof Styles tab" is an excellent source of true data relative to setting up for various differing roof types and geometry). Fix roof

The roof pitches are steeper in the photo than in your posted image. Go to the "Build Roof" dialog and change the pitch (angle) of the roof steeper to better match your photo. DJP
  4. What exactly do you mean by "stepped footer" please? Once I fully understand what you mean can the answer be answered. DJP
  5. Most Architects and Engineers I have worked with use a digital scan of their stamp, applying it to the layout sheet, title block area. DJP
  6. That is where the angle of the roof is protruding into the flat ceiling. To correct that you simply raise the roof plane doing the protruding manually a few inches and then reconnect its mating edges manually to adjoining roof planes affected by the manual moving upward of the roof plane. DJP
  7. Select the terrain peremeter while on floor 1, in the "Edit Toolbar" select "copy". Then move your plan view to floor 0 (foundation level). Then go to "Edit - Paste - Paste Hold Position which will cause a copy of the terrain plane polyline to be copy-pasted in the same "X-Y-Z" location as the terrain plane above. This action does NOT create two terrain planes but just a plain, closed polyline. DJP
  8. Sloped soffits can be configured and manually located to serve your purpose. DJP
  9. It must be finished up manually by you and your mouse. DJP

  11. Thank you for sharing a copy of your file. I looked it over, especially your "Roof Tab" settings in the walls. I have to say I have NO IDEA what you are trying to do. Is this an existing structure? Do you are can you create and share any photos of the existing structure at all to help clarify what the heck you are trying to do please? TOO many unknowns at this point, sorry. Without more understanding all I can do is guess, which I had rather not. DJP
  12. Post a copy of your plan file and I will fix the roofs in about 5 minutes, if you like. This is not "rocket science"! DJP
  13. It should be easy via manual manipulation to correct what the auto-roofs created, try that. DJP
  14. It is unclear from you post and images exactly what you wish to do. Please explain in greater detail please. DJP
  15. Search the Home Designer Website (homedesignersoftware.com) take a look at the help articles and videos about "custom materials" please. DJP
  16. What software you have will determine the routes you may want to take. DJP
  17. In Suite and Architectural, framing is automatically produced and is NOT manually editable. In HD Pro, unless you have ordered framing to be built, automatically or otherwise, then no framing with be in evidence until you cause it to exist. Also in your shared image, roof planes layer is obviously ON and can easily be turned off in the "Display Options" dialog for that camera type. DJP
  18. What I commonly do is to create an "as built plan file" and then from a copy of that the "proposed plan file", then I can indicate the demo and new walls separately in each plan file (see attached PDF example) DJP 909 Pine.pdf

  20. No "trick" just Go to your second floor. Turn on your "Reference Display" so you can "see" the "L" shaped stair from the second floor. Draw around the stair with "railing walls" or solid walls as you choose, and then designate the resulting "room" to be "Open Below" (no floor area) which is what the "Stairwell" tool does by itself as above, just manually. DJP
  21. The "Project Browser" does not exist in any Home Designer Titles, it is a Chief Premier/Interiors only feature, sorry. DJP
  22. Share a copy of your plan, and I will be happy to show you. DJP
